Round 12 Captain

My Opponent had Danger VC and has elected to bench Petracca for Hall (FWD) and made Hall C.
However, they now have Petracca & Paine EMG (FWD) and Paine has already played for 0.
This is crazy right? Essentially elected to take a donut for Dangers score right? As you get the lowest of the 2 EMG scores which will be zero.
Am I right?
I'm not sure they have much to gain given I also have Dangers non C score and crack at captaining Hanners, Shiel, Shaw, Martin or GAJ.
Out of my four options, who would be the best??

If Paine played and was say injured for 0 he'd cop the zero but because Paine didn't play his emergency will roll over to Petracca now.

I thought these days the point of whether they played or not was moot and a 0 was a 0.

The rules aren't clear in this description:
Emergency player scoring
•Selected emergencies will replace any non-starting player in matching positions only.
•Where there's more than one emergency available in a certain position and only one is required, the lowest scoring emergency will be used.
•If you have a 0 scoring player in a certain position and don't have an emergency selected in that position, you'll not score any points for that player..
•Players who are actually named and in the starting 22 for any match AND score a 0 for any reason, will NOT be replaced by an emergency. Their 0 score will also have an effect on their value, being recorded as having played a game.

HOWEVER, maybe is sort of eludes to that in this by-rule:
Q: If I have two emergencies selected in the same position who both score, which score is added to my team to replace a non-playing player?
A: The lowest scoring emergency is always used. Please note, emergencies that score greater than 0 are only used to replace the score of a non-playing player in your team.

But its still not clear. I hate these endless loophole options. I know of people that wont play in leagues that allow loopholes!!

Pretty clear by this point in the emergencies section:

*Emergencies scoring 0 will not be considered the 'lowest-scoring' and will not be used.

No they must play for it to happen.

OK, I can understand that.
Hopefully when they are a EMG selected bench player its different to if they are on the field. I guess I'll find out at the end of the round.

Hopefully when they are a EMG selected bench player its different to if they are on the field. I guess I'll find out at the end of the round.

100% sure your opponent will get Petraccas score as Emg because Paine wasn't named and didn't play.

Wow I didn't see that 200 from Danger coming at all!
I didn't have the VC on him unfortunately, went a little unique with Rocky into Gaz or Pendles.
I think both may look at way Danger did this week and Rocky last week and turn it on.
Leaning to Gaz - I do t think Richmond tag let alone when they are going to belt a team

Doesn't Pendles have a Vince tag incoming? Vince does a pretty good job at shutting down.

Last week I had the C on Wyatt for loophole. This week I moved Nicnat back on the ground. Went on a bender last night. Get a text from the bloke I'm playing 'Why did you have Nicnat as captain?'
