Will take a while for the Falcons to get over that loss!

I know it's not their "game style" but I reckon in hindsight they may have run the ball once they got inside the 30, take time off the clock, kick the field goal, up by 11 with under 3 mins to go. Instead of Ryan dropping back, taking a sack to push them out of field goal range.

I've been saying the same thing all day. It was just dumb play calling. Even on 3rd and 33, why would you pass it? Run the ball and chew up clock.

Jukes

Guys I think we all missed a huge story from SB521

We had two of the top 25 kickers of ALL TIME facing off against each over - Gostkowski (#13) and Bryant (#25)

Hopefully next year we see a Niners (#14 Dawson) vs Colts (#3 Vinatieri) SB to continue this great kicker storyline

At third down I thought it was alright. You run it take off 40 seconds and then punt (because you won't get the yards) or pass knowing that any completion that gains you ~10 yards probably wins you the game. Along with the Patriots D needing to cover the short throws/possible run, a deep play option always arises too.

But before that they should've been running to chew up clock for sure.

It was also the biggest margin the Pats have won by in their 5 wins.

Now we wait for Holz, plumdog and Jay the bandwagoners :P

"We totally don't just support them because they're successful"

Pretty sad that when a team you dont like wins its either they where lucky, asterix or they cheated and all their fans are bandwagoners. Then if your team wins its all skill and they deserved it, then all the fans are loyal.

People seem to not understand what a bandwagon fan is.

A bandwagon fan is soneone who for example went for the sea hawks 2 years ago. Carolina last year and dallas this year. If you call a person who supports a team for 10 years a bandwagon fan you have no idea.

All i can say is take that brady/pat haters, you wish you where half as good.

RaisyDaisy

Haha Holz, so you've been a Patriot fan for 10 years?

So you started following them right around the time they won 3 in 4 years?

it was more NE had a bunch of intangibles come together consecutively, it looks like a bad call but at the same time it is how they play which had them winning at that point, at any point that Defense could have stopped Brady putting up 25 points in 15 minutes...

Freeman is going at 7 yards a touch and you're in FG range. At that point in the game you just want to keep the clock running and make it a two score game. There was no reason to drop back to pass on 1st down or 2nd down or 3rd down. They kept digging themselves into a hole. Shanahan panicked in the moment with the playcalling.

plumdog millionaire

There's going to be a lot of blow back on Quinn and Shanahan for their clock and game

Wow - incredible ending. Kyle Shanahan's play calling with 3 minutes left proves he's ready for the 49ers. #SuperBowl2017

I didnt watch nba or nfl untill 2007 when i met friends who liked american sports. The chase of perfection really interests me so thats why i got interested in the nfl seeing the patriots trying to do something great. So picked them as what they where doing interested me.they lost that year of course but didnt stop supporting them and it was 8 years before they won a superbowl and have seen 2 as a pats fan.

Why did you pick your team?

I typically support players more then teams in anerican sports anyway as i find teams change way too much unlike afl. Its why i was a cav heat cav fan. I didnt bandwagon the winning team i followed lebron wherever he goes.

Jukes

Literally "the reason I support the team I support is because they went 18-0 after winning 3 SBs in the previous 6 years because the only thing I care about is winning/success"

At least Jay bothers to make up some rubbish story about why he bandwagons ::)

Ringo

Posting here that when the 49ers make the superbowl and win they are the team I have been supporting  ;)

may be waiting a while though.

Mat0369

Shanahan and Quinn made Reid and Childress/MM/Pederson look competent in clock management.

RiOtChEsS

Hate on the offense all u like but that D gave up 25 points in 17 minutes of game time, NE punted once in the second half

That superbowl was my first game i ever saw. Didnt know either team only one was going undefeated and i like history. They lost and kept going for them.

Plus you go for the best vfl team ever. If your team wasnt one of the worst afl teams of all time you could be called a bandwagon fan under your rules.
