how can you rest a player with bye weeks coming.....seriously what a stupid idea

I won't be picking any of the Brisbane rookies based on they have a spud coach whose idea is to 'rotate' guys who are going to take them forward. It's too unpredictable coming into the bye rounds when I need guys playing.

Why are they giving games to Bastinac, Bell, Robinson? They are rejects.

I wrote a post on here last week and I'll stick to it. Brisbane have huge issues with their inside contested ball so they need to get games into Matho, Keays and Jansen is a goer too. What does Leppa do? Drops a guy who they need to get games into.. As I said - spud of a coach and won't take Brisbane anywhere. There's a reason why none of the good kids like Docherty and Yeo want to stay

Don't know about Bell or Bastinac but Robinson has laid 63 Tackles and has had 123 C/P in ten games would not mind a reject like that at the Tiges this year
Docherty and Yeo left when Voss was coach so nothing to do with Leppa. What a lot of people are forgetting is Brisbane had the hardest draw of any team for the first 10 Rounds with the only team they played that finished below them being Carlton and they are traveling well.  Apart form 4 games where we were blown out of the water have been competitive.  I will be reserving my judgement on performances over the next 11 rounds.  It is the players skill levels that are letting the Lions down.
Bell and Robbo would still be in best 22 in most sides so have no problem with playing them as the experience is till needed.
I have posted in a number of threads that imo Mattho was omitted as a result of the ducking strategy for his protection being a youngster, Do not know how much more you can do as 18 of the players in our match against Carlton have played less than 50 games.
For the record not happy with Lions either but still no reason to desert them or crucify the coach mid season given or horror draw early which was recognised as the worst. (We played 6 of last years Top 8 in the first 10 rounds and the other 4 all were above us on the ladder.)

Well then.

I mean, I'd already benched him for Petracca this week but now he's actually out...

We now know who Rocket was talking about when he said "21 of our 22 can hold their heads high".

Nige

I mean, Rocket's spot on there. He has been trash after about the opening month.

Will be interesting to see how he goes and whether he comes back Round 14 or spends a couple of weeks in the NEAFL.

Definitely not in a position to trade him out unfortunately but should be able to cover his absence.

Here's hoping he gets a wake up call like Anthony Miles did for us, he's been super since his return to senior action after we dropped him to the VFL.

Trash? How well is an outside mid with a dodgy shoulder meant to play in a game with torrential rain? Not to mention he still averages 28 disposals. It's a cheap shot from Rocket.

Yeah I know. I'm referring to the "21 of 22 can hold head high" comment in regards to Rocket.

Ringo, apologies if you've been asked this already - but how do you rate Jansen? I didn't see him play but he clearly scored very well. Assuming his JS isn't ideal, but keen to hear your thoughts as a Lions man as I may need to bring him in this week.

Cheers.

Maybe he has been dropped because of defensive pressure? Only having 2 tackles is pretty poor for a midfielder who playing on ball

Three good things for my team:

Lee named at FB for the Saints
Cox named at FF despite Witts and Grundy both in the squad
Dunkley keeps his spot despite an ordinary week

As Mathieson has not been selected this week Jansen will be sound.  I have been impressed by him and will see first hand in first grade on Saturday.  Has been outstanding in the last month in NEAFL and carried that form in last week in Seniors. I am actually considering bringing in Jansen a week early in DT.
