Fixtures
Colorado Avalanche vs Chicago Sharks
Colorado are a team that could consider themselves slightly unlucky. With a list that is quite stable and has the fire power needed to take on those above them. Coach T Dog would be keen to get a win this week because there's a slim chance they could jump to 5-6 and find themselves in the top half of the table. The Sharks have had a few issues lately with injuries and poor captaincy choices, getting key personnel back and making sure the right duo lead the team is what will put them back on track and this is the week to do it against a team they should beat. Chicago should bounce back this week.
New Brooklyn Hawks vs Boston Terriers
The Hawks struggled last week and posted the worst score of the round. This isn't ideal considering their opponents this week. If they're gonna have any chance of winning this one, they'll need a large portion of their team to turn up or they'll stare down the barrel of an ugly defeat. It's not hard being Boston. Coach elephants has a very cushy job as the man in charge of the ladder leaders. The Terriers are pumping out big scores every week and don't really look like slipping up, so you could argue it's their season to lose. New Brooklyn will do well to get close, Boston should cruise home.
Anaheim Mighty Ducks vs San Francisco Grizzlies
The Ducks have stars left, right and centre but as the coach will let you know, they're missing half of them. That said, they're still a pretty good team and currently round out the top half of the ladder. Anaheim are perfectly capable of putting together a score and can definitely beat any team of their day. The Grizzlies had a horror start, but the boys from San Francisco didn't let that get them down, if anything it provided further incentive to defend their crown. From 0-4 and bottom of the ladder to winning six games straight and sitting in second place, that's impressive. It's hard to go past San Fran in that kind of form.
Ottawa Otters vs Carolina Panthers
Ottawa are the definition of the middle-of-the-pack team. Bouncing around the middle of table week after week. They were top 4 only a matter of weeks ago, but now they're not even in the top half of the table which doesn't bode well for their finals aspirations. The Otters wouldn't be happy with having the most points against. The Panthers are doing a pretty good job so far. Their consistency is probably a big factor in why they sit in third. Coach nas just needs to pick the right 18 players + sub every week and his team are a lock for a finals berth. This could be a flip of the coin, but the Otters will look to avenge last week's loss.
Houston Bombers vs Santiago Cockerels
This doesn't look like the most exciting clash, but it could certainly be a game to watch. Houston were very ordinary last round, but that doesn't tell the whole story. The Bombers are a much better side than what they showed and will be keen to restore some pride to their name by taking the win here. In their tracks are Santiago, the team that top scored last week. Being third for points scored is very good, but sitting in fifth isn't ideal, so they'll look to win strongly this week and hope other results go their way to claw their way back up the ladder. Santiago should be able to do enough to win.
Quito Quetzals vs Las Vegas Sinners
The bottom two teams face off in what is actually a really important game. If the home team in Quito win, they get distance on Las Vegas whereas if the Sinners take victory, they join Quito on 3-8 and all of a sudden are back in it. Quito keep banking on Sam Mitchell to do well as captain, relegating Bryce Gibbs the vice captaincy despite career best form, so it might be interesting to see where the coach makes a change. Las Vegas were a ghost ship last week and yet still managed to post a score that would have got them a win against other sides. Lose here and they've pretty much won themselves the spoon, so there's a bit to play for. Vegas to win here, but it could come down to the wire.

Few quick stats:
Longest winning streak this season is the currently unbroken 6 game run by San Francisco - who also tie for the longest losing streak of 4 games with Anaheim, both of whom are in the top 6.

Average weekly score this year? 114.45 points, or 1716.75 SC points. Five teams average above this mark - Boston, San Francisco, Santiago, Ottawa, and Carolina, with Chicago and Anaheim not far behind. Basically, you score 115 and you'll win more often than not - not so difficult, right?

In terms of amount of losses with a 115+ score, Santiago have the lead with 3, followed by Boston and Colorado with 2 - Chicago and Houston are the only teams without one.

On the other hand, New Brooklyn leads the way with victories while scoring 114 or under with 3. Carolina, Chicago, Colorado, and Houston have 2, while San Francisco are the only team without any.

Also, new segment next week - poll of the week! (Unless I forget)

kilbluff1985

could we start doing coach of the week like AXVIII DT i think it's fun

base it on a number of things like picking C/ sub and any team changes etc
