CHRISTCHURCH SAINTS

B: Matthew Boyd (v), Jarrad McVeigh, Ben Reid, Alex Neal-Bullen
M: Bryce Gibbs (C), Sam Mitchell, Hamish Heartless, Connor Blakely
R: Mason Cox
F: Leigh Montagna, Jake Stringer (r), Luke Breust, Kyle Langford
I: Toby McLean, Corey Ellis

E: Jordan Roughead, Daniel McKenzie, Jake Lever

R: Koby Stevens

IN: Boyd, Stringer, Blakely, Ellis, Langford
Out: Gilbert, Dempster, Stevens, Dickson, Garlett

'çhurch going in with SIX second year players this week, with another two on the emergency list and that's not even including Jack Steele who put up 44 possessions and a couple of goals in the 2's last week but probably won't get a call up into GWS' 22. Vandenberg and Andrews are unavailable while Abe still hasn't been given an opportunity to show that he's AFL quality yet but the rebuild is well and truly gaining traction. Blakely is the one to watch again this week, 62% gametime for 15 cont poss and 122 SC points is much better than that guy who got the rising star nom last week. Time to set the record straight.

Injury list
Jobe Watson - Season
Aaron Sandilands - 4-6 weeks
Ryan Griffen - 2 weeks

Harris Andrews 2 weeks
Jed Anderson - 2 weeks
Will Hoskin-Elliott - 2 weeks
Shaun McKernan - Test
Aaron Vandenberg - Test
Clay Smith - NFI

Of course it's our most important player who is out injured for the longest. 211's return has been pushed back until after the bye at least, so it might be looking like Christchurch will have to pull off something remarkable in the finals if we make it. We won't be a top qualifier if our rucks are scoring 60's instead of 110's and have half our midfield playing every week.

Memphistopheles

Absolutely nailed our AFL team I think Purps.

We've got the one old key forward gun who props up our team (Hawkins/NROO) and is mentoring the young future key forward gun (Wright/McCartin) then bags of young talent across the board who are inconsistent but on their day can be capable of springing an upset.

You never know which starting lineup you'll see each week because we're still working out who is in our best 22 but there are some guys there already we can build a team around (Prestia, Hunter, Savage, Smith, Wright, Mills, Parish)

And, of course we have one of the Saints most improved players (SC-wise) this season in Shane Savage and one of the Saints rising, yet still inconsistent, stars in Blake Acres. Also got the Saints reserve ruckline in Longer and Pierce.

Apart from Mundy and Houli, wouldn't they mostly be depth though? (I haven't looked at your team, just guessing)

Especially with the form your key forwards have been in though, didn't think any of those players would be making your team. Maybe Rosa as well I guess.

Ah ok, fair enough

Hellopplz

Time to pounce on the Lonely Islanders while they are coming off their worst week of the year >:D.

Billing out hurts a tad, but we can cover! Back in comes Keays who played his worst game of the season last week, because I back him to come back hard. Unlike The Lonely Islanders of course :P.

Koby out again joins Sandi, Watson, Griff as best XV players on the sidelines. Hartlett has been dropped after his pathetic form lately.

Now, on to the same old shower that I rant on about every week...

Need depth?

We've got 5 forwards in the forward line, 2 on the bench, 1 in the ruck, 1 being rested, with Jeff and Dickson playing but not making the cut. Vandenberg, WHE and Anderson out injured.

We've got 3 defenders on the emergency list, 1 being rested, with Wilson and Gilbert playing but not making the cut. Harris Andrews out injured, and then there's the guns in waiting Abe and DVR.

That's EIGHT 2nd year players in the XV this week. Thanks for your draft picks a couple of years ago.

I think we are in trouble this week. Need some big games from our KPP forwards if we wanna win.
