Lol Bully always getting carried away with your expectations - once you pick someone they're the best and you convince yourself :P

90 average is extremely wishful. Not saying it's impossible but you talk like it's a lock

Jack Trengove not far away at all and he could be that solid bench option we need

Hopper might be on ball as opposed to Mills, but Hopper has a shower load of gun mids ahead of him to compete with

Not getting carried away at all, just stating the facts. He will be culled in round 15, that's actually five price rises. He should make 50k next week at the very least. I wouldn't be relying on Trengove to be the saving grace either, he's missed a two years of football and is playing for a club with a history of resting.

Before you go shouting me down for stating my opinion, have a good look at your bench and ask yourself just how well you expect to go over the bye period. You have three weeks to get your house in order.

All solid points and agree with what you say re cover during the byes which is why I am considering him

5 price rises is perfect, and he will hit 300k for sure but for me his scoring ability, confidence I would have fielding him and cover he provides over the byes easily outweighs whether or not he makes 320k or 400k - that's secondary to me

Convincing myself to get him, but at the same time I can't steer away from the bigger picture and as I mentioned previously I don't want him at M8 with 3 cheap rookies on the bench with no DPP because it will take me too long to get that 8th prem mid in that case

Might not be great use of a trade in terms of dollars, but Davis to Hopper might be worth doing this week as it means I get to maintain DPP and improve my mid depth (Bennedy/Kedge/Petracca at M8 with Hopper and Smith at 9 and 10), as opposed to downgrading Bennedy to Hopper, losing DPP and mid depth

That's the other thing, unless your trade down to Hopper is an injury or BenKen,Adams,Kerridge where u net 150k profit
its even harder to justify.

Like i said it really scares me when a player goes nuts and has the statistics Hopper had in his first game and only gets 106 SC.
I think to myself how often can he repeat this feat? and if that's his ceiling what is his average like? (74sc 18 disposals maybe?).

He'll make you some money and score some good scores but unforeseen rookies always pop up and i personally and not in desperate need of an expensive downgrade option yet.

MontyJnr

Is his job security really that safe? GWS have a stack of talent tearing up the 2nd's and I know they've always had a habit of rotating players in and out of the side.

Leaning towards passing on Hopper - reckon Josh Smith is decent M9 cover for now and can add Matho next week

Mine too, until I work out a way to get Priddis this week. Need Wells to play.

Locking him in this week.
Has got the bye in Rd 15 so he's really good cover for those weeks and perfect to upgrade in Rd 15 to a Hannerbery type.
He'll score around the 70-80 mark which will be enough for a $150k price rise.

Pass
I will wait to see teams and HOPEFULLY can hold off trades for week
Current rookies Adams Hewett McGovern DBJ Petracca Smith - all performing to expectations - all still have upside IMO

So you are comfortable with DBJ with a B/e of 105. Fair enough his last 2 31 and 57 (when injured) are pushing up his B/e but think he has possibly maxed out.

I am. DBJ is a good SC player. Last week's score was due to injury, otherwise he would've gone 70+ and the 31 was a shocker against Carlton. Before that, 5 games with a low of 70 and two tons. Average of 74, so once these two scores roll out, his price will go up again.
Very comfortable fielding him too!!

Hoping Hopper gets dropped/rested shortly. The top ranked guy picked him up early, so could give us others a leg up!

Yeah I'd prefer to keep DBJ as D6/7 for now

DBJ has maxed out for now. I think he will go higher if kept for long enough and provided he plays. It will mean keeping him for 4-5 more weeks. Thats something I wont be doing. Time to cash out.

madskill55

Hopper named on the Ball.

Could mean something, could mean nothing. Take what you want from it.

Im still thinking about whether Hopper is worth it. Its Hopper Vs Williams Vs Howard. Will get one of these guys and will do an upgrade.

Long hard sleepless night over this one i tell ya….
