Thoughts this week? Those of us (I'd imagine quite a few) who have both Rocky & Wells, what are our plans?

Those with crummy backlines, is this the week to fix it? Or has the performance of key rookies eased the need somewhat?

Personally I'm thinking of getting rid of both Rocky and Wells, and am looking at a few POD's, depending on selection.

Rockliff -> R.Gray (if selected) - This ones pretty much locked in. Robbie should be a top 6 forward, and if he lines up this week should smash Carlton like he did last year before he got knocked out, and just get back to his best from there and not drop too much cash.

Have a few options I'm considering for number 2, some ridiculous names but I'm liking one in particular.

Wells -> Jack or Jackson Trengove (via Menadue or Tippa)

Jack - If he gets selected, @322k could potentially rise quite a bit in a short timeframe, plus free up a bit of cash for future weeks to fix my backline. Fits bye structure just fine. Averaging 115 in the VFL at the moment (83% DE, 9 tackles) coming back from an LTI and should thrive under Roos without the need to occasionally run with like in the past. Could be a stroke of genius or another 2016 Liberatore. We will see. (Rookie priced in RDT!) Selection pending, but should be either this week or next. A huge gamble

Jackson - Could be 2016's Mark Blicavs. Don't laugh, I know he is shower to watch in defence and makes every Port supporter cringe, but at 240k is a overpriced rook with rock solid, first 22 JS playing in the ruck. (got dropped round 6, but that was a massive bounce back.  95 points from 25 touches has me on the edge, could be needed in the backline for taller defenses, which is a huge worry, but that tasty DEF/RUC DPP though plus a 100k price rise & season D8. Probably am just retarded and could easily do Mills to him or whatever if I was that keen, but its 1am and I'm out of it to say the least

Or could just get MacPherson lol.

What are everyone elses plans?

I think waiting on Gray could be a good move, he still has a very high BE and you could get in an uber premo for Rocky, I think your second trade may burn you harshly, I prefer Macpherson aha

My trades are

Wells to Blakely And Rocky up

Would someone please rank me in order for Beams, Dangerfiedl, Selwood and Hannas

Thanks guys

Jukes

I'm thinking of going Wells/Mills -> MacPherson and R. Davis -> Parker, although do have the other half of Wells/Mills and my backline (Heater, Boyd, Vince, Adams, Dea, MBrown, Lee, Broad) to look after, hmmmm

Issue I have is that his BE is 148. He had 137 on Carlton in 2014 & 63 from 45% TOG in 2015. Could go absolutely bonkers and barely drop in price, in which case I'll probably need to do DEF upgrades next week regardless, so I'll have missed the boat. Could be wrong and he drop quite a bit from an 80 or whatever, but gotta assess whether that risk is worth taking.

Current midfield is Neale - Titchell - GAJ - Rockliff - Jelwood - Zaharakis - Ross - Viney (Smith - Gresham) so either Dangerfield/Hanners/Parker/Beams would be probably be too many of one bye week, but its certainly food for thought.

Honestly depends on who your remaining mids are mate. I like Beams because theres very few people to steal points from him and he shares the same bye as Rocky, but will probably drop a bit inevitably with his high starting price. Can't go wrong with either of the cats though. Hanners is also definitely a viable option but it depends on remaining mids.

Yeah probably, might just stick with then, but Jack Trengove if selected.... yeah nah I don't need that sort of POD at that stage of the season. Could still be dumb and do it, will go back and forwards throughout the week haha.

Rocky to Macpherson, then looking at possibly a few real POD's in Walters or Motlop...if not I'll lean towards Montagna, Gray or Dusty.

HappyDEZ

got dropped round 6, but that was a massive bounce back.
Got suspended (1 game) round 5 so missed round 6. Port have Alipate to come back soon. Dougal is still too green for the AFL grind & Westhoff & Dixon are required elsewhere. Jackson will stay R1 barring injury. Which he gets quite a few of.

pommyadam

Hinkley likes him as a ruckman (the AFLCA votes tell you that) - Wingard rates him, and he's 240k
what more do you want

turn a rookie into him (Adams? Mills? others) and then turn Rocky into whatever mid you want

WhatMate

is anyone holding Wells? I mean he has a BE of 89 (according to footywire) and is playing against Essendon, so if named is quite capable of meeting that score.

I have do deal with Adams, Rosa and Davis (who appears out of favour) as well as the likes of other rookies who have hit their ceiling. So I think Wells may stay.

I'll be holding Wells as long as possible I think.
