Goldy in doubt ?!

I'm currently ranked 21st with Goldstein but Goetz (no DPP) as my R3. If he is out I not sure what I'll do. Thinking of upgrading Goetz to Gorringe. Verse the Lions he might scrape a 70 for me and keep me in it.

Why don't you check out the top 20 teams currently and see if they have Goldy too, and if they have cover.

the thing is how safe is gorringe?

I have considered bringing in Shuan Hampson as a perma r3 but seems silly.

Its pretty close to 50/50 with/without Goldy. Unfortunately I cant see bench :S

what do we make though 70 points?

the 120k could be used instead to turn someone like kerridge into a 95-100 average fwd.

with 12 rounds left and if it gains 15 points a week then thats 180 points over the season. So unless another ruck donut will be ahead.

I reckon upgrading to say Kurt tippett makes more sense to gain those points nad if there is another case like this week you just go goetz to a cheap F/R

I have Hickey as my F6/future F7/R3 as backup.....not setting world on fire but still averaging 85 and can cover both Gawn and Goldy during the bye rounds, and has pretty solid JS and is basically lone ruckman.

So would say nearly certain to play with only a slight doubt. Also said he could have played out game against Sydney but did not want to take the risk.

It's a tricky one...

How's this hypothetical:
Say you trade in Tippett/Lycett, and have to play Kedge up fwd. your R/F scores 75, and Kerridge 65 for a 140 total. In doing this trade you miss out on upgrading Kedge to a premo fwd who goes 125 this round. The trade for cover gains you 15 points this week, but you lose 10 points a week for the remainder playing Tipp/Lyc over say Dusty, and you're 105 points down over jus copping the donut...

Gonna cop a donut I reckon. Not gonna risk the outcome of my team over trading in bench cover just for this.

Would trade to become

Gawn Gorringe (Goldy donut)

I make 60 points. Miss out on Kedge to Premo or have to waste another trade further down the track.

Kedge 80 avg, prem fwd 100+ avg. 3 weeks I make up the cost of the donut plus a saved trade.

It matters what you are going for. For league I would not trade but for overall I would. I'm currently 21st and there is no way I'm copping a 0. It may be a waste of a trade but kerridge vs lions could go 80+ and there's no guarantee the upgraded premo will score what you want him to score. What is guaranteed is that doughnut.

Really hope he plays because I don't want to cop a donut, but as I've said before Papley to Sinclair for 25k makes the most sense for me. Sinclair will play all year (barring injury) so should be handy R3/F8 cover for the rest of the year

What you need to think about is that you might be happy to cop the donut now, but what happens if another donut comes up again later in the season

Not even at the half way mark, and as a Goldy/NN owner I pretty much expect NN to get a rest at some point so Sinkers looks attractive to me. Won't score great, but will be reliable and flexible cover due to his JS which all the rucks cheaper than him don't have
