I hate theories :P

Maybe I hold the early seasons up on an unmatchable pedestal based on pure nostalgia, but this show's really gone down hill over the last two seasons. I don't think the last episode was handled nearly as well as it could have been.
I think season 5 was pretty poor. Season 4 also wasn't fantastic, but better than 5. This season, however, I've really enjoyed. Although I'm not sure if it's because it actually is really good, or just because now it's going ahead of the books (and, funnily enough, the one thing I've really hated so far this season is the Iron Islands).

Without my suspension of disbelief I still dont know how Bran is supposed to escape with only a 200-300mtr head start??
Haha, me too.
Benjen, Howland, or CH. I'd assume Benjen, although would like to see their explanation of how he is in the right place at the right time, so to speak :P
But there is someone in the preview for next weeks ep on horseback with a torch, right behind Meera. And those 2 things (horseback and torch) are why I think it's Benjen.

You were right.
Benjen is Coldhands? Or is this just in the show
I think that's just in the show. IIRC in the books, the CotF say CH died long long ago, or something like that, which basically rules out Benjen considering how old they themselves are. A popular theory is that when the WW first started trying to "reproduce" (like what you see in the show with Craster's babies), they flowered up the first time (which is understandable), and CH went off on his own and wouldn't obey them.

Felt like yesterday's ep was quite bland. Nothing too exciting, but I understand that mid season requires story build up
Yeah mostly story building, but will still good.

My thoughts on yesterday's ep:

Basically all story building, and some very interesting stuff happened. I like how they've finally brought back some characters, or showing others for the first time. I wonder if the actor who plays Benjen knew if he would be coming back or not :P

KL: The HS just flowering owned the Lannisters and Tyrells hahaha, but I am also 100% certain that Margaery is playing him. There is absolutely no way that she broke so quickly after being so strong not that long ago. Was wondering how Jaime was gonna end up in the Riverlands (about time imho), and having it happen the way it did was perfect I reckon. Oh and looks like Jaime and Bronn are gonna team up again! :D

Sam: I like Sam, he's a pretty cool character, so it's good to see him getting more screentime again. The actor playing Randyll Tarly did a perfect job in that ep. Sam taking Heartsbane I think was a very smart move. Firstly, Sam is a smart guy. He might think that Valyrian steel can kill the White Walkers (which it can, although Sam doesn't know about that for sure iirc), so taking the sword to the NW gives them an extra weapon which could really help a lot, even though it is just the one sword. After all, there's only like 11 WW left or something. Secondly, and I saw this on /r/asoiaf, Randyll is a very proud man, and won't want his bannermen to know that his son stole his sword from him, and will likely chase him on his own (perhaps with his brother too), which will make it a lot more difficult to catch Sam. It also means that Randyll will likely follow him all the way to the NW, realize that the WW are real, and help aid with the fight against them. As I said, Sam is a smart guy.

Arya: So, this could go one of two ways. I think either way, Arya is gonna kill the waif. Jaqen said that a face would end up on the wall no matter what, and so it could be the waif's face, because she failed her tests or something by harbouring ill feelings towards Arya, which FM aren't supposed to have. Alternatively, the FM could go after Arya. I think the former, but not confident in that. If it is the former, she may stay in Braavos a little longer, otherwise she's gonna get the flower outta there haha (Nymeria meetup?! :P).

Daenerys: Ok so now she has shown her Khalasar that she can control Drogon, so they'll follow her 100%. Add that to her Unsullied men, and obviously her dragons, she's getting stronger by the minute. Feel like she's kinda starting to turn into Aerys though...

Bran: Yeah, figured Benjen would save them. Looks like we're gonna get more Branflakes though, so that'll be sweet. Now, about those fast visions Bran was having...there was some with the wildfire and the Mad King Aerys. Now, I can't remember if Aerys ever actually filled their wildfire caches or not, so there is a small chance that the visions without Aerys on the throne were actually from the future (Mad Queen Cersei hype), and that'd be awesome. Also showed Jaime stabbing Aerys in the back and sitting on the throne, and a few others that I don't really remember and can't be bothered looking up :P
I'm looking forward to some more Bran stuff though. Oh and I just remembered, the bloody hand! Could have been Ned's hand after he finds Lyanna! And Jon may have been born under a bleeding star... ;)

Freys: Finally get to see the Freys again. Feeling hungry for some Frey pies now! In all seriousness though, they mentioned the Brotherhood Without Banners, could we be getting a certain character soon? Probably not, but a man can dream. The Riverlands stuff is gonna be awesome I reckon, can't wait. And Walder Frey is hilarious with some of the stuff he says, even though he's a giant cockass.

It was stupid
Yeah the only reason it was there imo is for the Khalasar to respect here and follow her and all that. Literally no other reason.

meow meow

Daenerys has been going to go over and flower shower up for about 10 seasons now.

And because nothing else "cool or exciting"/cinematic happened in the ep so they wanted to finish on a talking point; "Oh my god, did you see the dragon last night?!? SO cool!"

Game of Thrones cheese haha. Still, a building ep for sure that one. Didn't really get around the Sam storyline, think it's got the worst acting and stereotypical characters, but the sword is obviously an important point (was originally brought up in the dialogue so forcefully tho, trash screenwriting).

It all seems to be heading that way IMO. Everyone off to Riverrun which is where they all were when LSH turns up too.

even though they said it would never happen I dont believe them, they said john snow was 100% dead and done after last season too.

lots more weird stuff going on now, so wont be as much of a WTF than it would have been back in s4

As always is the case with most books that become tv series/movies. Might have to have a glimpse. Am a pretty avid reader when I get into a good novel
