Just finished watching Pav's presser announcing his retirement. All class but what else would you expect from Mathew.
A wonderful career from a great player who gave everything to a club he loves. One of the few to never put a foot wrong on and importantly off the ground. If you were young and wanted a role model then there were few if any better then Mathew Pavlich, great player great clubman and an even better bloke. Congrats Pav on a wonderful career and I wish you all the very best with what ever you and your family decide to do in the future.

Fremantle forward Matthew Pavlich gave insight into his plans after his final game against the Western Bulldogs at Domain Stadium this Sunday.

“I’ll take some time off,” Pavlich said.

“Lauren's (Pavlich’s wife) 36 weeks pregnant and I’ve got two little rascals (Harper, 3 and Jack, 18-months) over there to run around with.

“People should have an 18-month plan and a three to five year goal. The 18-month plan is to take five to six months and smell the roses and disconnect, and spend some time with people that I’ve really sacrificed a lot of time away from.”

Pavlich was quick to put a stop to ideas of a coaching role in his plans for the future.

“A lot of coaches, including ours, talk about becoming accidental coaches,” Pavlich said.

“I’ll never rule it out, but I don’t think that it’s something that I can’t answer honestly right now.

“Initially there will be a bit of distance from club environment or away from the game.

“I love the game, it’s been my passion.

“I’ll never say never to a role in football.”

Pavlich will play his 353rd and final game this Sunday afternoon in Fremantle’s clash with the Western Bulldogs at Domain Stadium.

It was a fitting way to see the man finish his career. Glad it went it all went down like it did. Deserved to go out like that.
