Is there anyone who watched Lee play these last 2 games who has an opinion either way on wether he is a good downgrade option for this week as bench fodder?

I watched him on the weekend and thought he did ok

I think his JS should be good, but expect 50-70 most weeks so should be decent bench cover

Yeah I watched the game too and he was solid. Good benchy in my opinion. trading out Dea for Lee

Hmm, I don't know about that, he seemed to make loads of mistakes under pressure so I'm not convinced and won't be bringing him in this week, plus Roberton to come back.  I'll wait for Darcy Tucker next week thanks.

scored a 71, 14 disposals at 85% worth a punt on my bench IMO. Roo under injury cloud and minchington did stuff all.

dont like tuckers JS at all. freo are cooked and have plenty of his type.

Goosey

Appears a worthy benchwarmer for mine, Dea to Lee this week.

Lee came in for Roberton who is currently listed as TBC on the injury list.
As far as I'm concerned, Lee loses his spot upon the return of Roberton. NRoo has nothing to do with him, it's a completely different role.

Yep, that's what I mentioned in another thread....

I don't really think he has great JS IMO...

Roberton had his best season last year, averaging 90

I think Lee will stay in the side when Roberton returns.

Roberton will get used as a attacking half back or on the wing instead of third tall defender which Lee can now play.

Then who loses their spot for Roberton?

Whoever else is in their team at the time and is on the fringe of the best 22.

Given you won't answer the question, I had a look myself.

This was the Saints backline last weekend: Geary, Fisher, Lee, Newnes, Dempster, Savage.
Jimmy Webster also played a defensive role.

Without watching the game, Webster stands out with only one mark.
However, he (Webster) was one of two inclusions, with Templeton and Acres being dropped, this could easily be reversed.

Geary, Fisher, Newnes, Dempster, Savage: none of these blokes are going to be dropped for Roberton before Lee.
Lee's JS is not great if you ask me.

I didn't answer the question because its impossible to know which 1-2 fringe players will be in the saints 22 by the time Roberton comes back. Other injuries can happen in that time too.

Pretty simple really.....

And regarding Lee's JS. Lee gives Hickey a chop out in the ruck and can also be used as a swingman to go up forward.

He is much more valuable than you think as the saints 3rd tall defender.

Dominated in the VFL last year as a key back and saints used a high draft pick on him too so they want to get games into him.

Jimmykidd

cant see how he gets dropped anytime soon. unless he completely spuds it up. hes 194cm hes a handy type. can go fwd if needed. saints would be crazy to drop him. should be safe for another 2-3 weeks hopefully

Good luck with Lee all, Roberton possibly back next week, keep convincing yourselves Lee is worth it, I will not be taking the bait.

@SC_Talk Dylan Roberton will be a test to play next week. Puts Tom Lee in a funny position as a downgrade option.

GoLions

Not getting Lee simply because I'd rather make an upgrade this week, and did a double downgrade last week so already have the cash. Plus, there's plenty of rookies coming up, and with Roberton a chance to return next week, would rather not take the risk.

Yep. I'll still be enjoying him rising in money because Roberton will be playing half back flank or wing while Lee will still be there as third tall defender.
