Tbh I'll probably be looking at both Murphy and GUNston haha, because why the flower not :P

theres always that.

personally im bringing in the best of the best as thats my strat. I dont mind paying more

Pendles and Shaw this week and ill probably take Dusty over Gunny. Will seriously look at gunny if he goes 100+ this week.
Yeah no guarantee I'd grab both (or even 1 for that matter), but hard to ignore at their prices.

He missed round 9 last year, and then proceeded to go 151, 103, 114, 97, 113, 104, 114, 117, 130, 93, 85 (in 55% TOG)

Oh and the last time Murph was this cheap was round 16 2013. It's good value, just depends on your structure.

Who did he play in those games and what did Cripps score?

And are you absolutely sure about that 11 games average being 55% TOG because that seems an incredible
average for playing half games  :P

Haha nah the 55% TOG was just for his 87 game. The rest are normal.

Theory is that when Cripps started dominating, Murphy was the main beneficiary.

He has a BE of 121 this week. If you really are considering him you're better off holding a week. He traditionally scores well against the Dons so it will be worth a look to gauge his fantasy relevance. If he can't go 120+ in this game it probably isn't worth getting him.

The other thing to consider is  the way Murphy is winning the ball. This is the most uncontested ball I have seen him get in forever. It's his role in the side and it is what we are asking of him since he is such a good user of the ball. What this means though is his scores have also dropped even though his possession counts are up. Those numbers from last year, check out his contested numbers in those games and then compare it to the Richmond and Freo games of this year which have been his two best.

Oic, thanks for the reply champ.

Ok, he's in :-X

Can wait until tomorrow to do the trade though, in case he's a late out or something (Dea out, Tippa into def, Kerridge into fwds, Murphy in :P). And if he is a late out, then can just do Dea to Simmo haha

Torpedo10

Not that ballsy.

Pretty risky IMO, can't see Murphy magically go back to 2011 form.

Because we're all expecting a 118 avg :P

I'll take any year between 2009 (inclusive) and now, excluding 2013 of course. And after last night, Libba is just about gone anyway, so won't be having Murphy and Libba as M7 and M8.

Think his B/E is 121 so you think he will be about the same price next week , if I can snag him with 1 trade next week he is in

Grufflez

You can't take him if you already have someone like a crouch/Gibbs/Libba who will fill m8
but if your midfield is pure premo's he could be worth the risk.

In all honesty though what would he need to average from here to be worth the trade ? (and no, scoring just above his current price tag
is not worth the trade)

I think you would want 106-107 + for the remainder of the year to be considered a successful selection.

I would be looking more along the lines of him being a M8 - M9  don't know if Libba is going to be good enough to keep at this stage , just a very handy player to have

Murph is definitely an option.   For me want 105-110 for balance of season.     Only as an upgrade target, would be a luxury to trade libba to murph.   Plenty of other trades to do before that one.     Just keep in mind you $ cost per point would be very low if he gets over 105.
