Bargain of the year? Lol come on, settle down ;)

I think Wells has that award stitched up

Murphy is cheap, but you generally get what you pay for. His scoring this year shows nothing to suggest he will be worthy of a mid spot

Why get Murphy this week when you can get Gray for about 60k more next week? Actually I'm a Gray owner, so yeah get Murphy he's a great deal!

Why not get both in two weeks? And I think you're missing the point, you're also a Shaw owner right? Well there goes that advantage, Weitering to Shaw, bang, 36% of the competition no longer have there 608k gold plated investment.

Will look at Rocky & Gray down the track, don't have any concerns rounding out my midfield with these two as I have Hall in the mids at present. Have Pendles, have Selwood, have Danger, have Ablett, have Libba will have Murphy and will have an additional mid if I need one to shore up the bench.

I'm bringing him in for Clayton Oliver this week. Won't really get tagged and can only improve with the upcoming draw.

So you have saved 50k and had to use a trade. I don't think I am missing the point - my advantage isn't gone because it didn't cost me a trade to get him

You have Pendles, Ablett, Danger and Selwood but there are plenty of other mids way ahead of Murphy that I would want in my 8

I acknowledge that Murphy is cheap and has the history, but 123, 84, 64, 36 and 101 is not good enough to take one of the 8  mid slots in my side. I'd rather Libba as my M8/9. There's getting a bargain, but there's also losing points by not aiming for the best

I can't afford to carry both Murph & Libba in my side.

Considering Libba's starting price it's a bit harsh to say you're carrying him... But agreed I wouldn't be trading in Murph...

Yeah it is a bit harsh, but if you're hypothetically competing against a midfield consisting of Ablett, Dangerfield, Selwood, Parker, Hannebery, Pendlebury, Priddis & Ward... then Libba & Murphy will be 2 weak links for you in that match up considering their scoring isn't at the "top 8 mid" standard.

Spite

So...you guys aren't getting Murphy to rotate with libba at m8/m9?

It's round 6

I'll focus on getting the best 22 first, and then see if I have the luxury of solid depth later in the year :)

With the amount of injuries to premo's I've already had this year, coupled with poor mid price selections I probably won't have that luxury so I need to nail the 22 first

Given that 5 weeks ago Shaw was 608k and Weitering was 220k, I think the strategy has paid off, the only difference being that Shaw didn't depreciate to the extent I was hoping.

Reckon Murphy will average 105 from this point which I'm happy to accommodate. Ultimate aim is to move him to the bench in due course.

Murphy has a nice upcoming draw as previously mentioned. Besides the few big hitters, if he can somewhat match the other premos, then you'll be fine. Especially if it allows you a secondary upgrade with the price difference. I guess it really depends on what midfield premos you already have.

I have copped 6 injuries already and so will have used 10 trades at the end of the round. But I also only have 6 rookies on my field. How are you struggling to finish your team? It looks relatively easy this year. You really can't afford any luxury trades until you're done because you're cutting it so fine?

After this round I have used 8 trades. At this stage, I am considering Adams and Wells keepers which means I still have 3 def rookies on field, Mills in the mids and Bennedy and Kedge in the fwd so that's 6 rookies I need to upgrade, plus upgrade Libba/get in another mid if I can keep him at M9. Also have Bartel who is concerning

22 trades to do all of that over another 4 months without factoring injuries is cutting it fine

Similar to RD except have used only 6 trades. If Adams is a keeper still have 3 defender prems to get, Mids have 2 to complete with Libba, Mills and Kerridge currently filling m7 - M9 and fwds with keeping Wells and deGoey 2 to upgrade,  So say 14 trades to fix this will leave only 10 trades for injuries any luxury trades and finals so cutting it fine as well. Will be chasing 2 of Beams, Hanners, Rocky, Parker or Ward to complete my mids and think all will score better than Murphy.

Judd Magic

I don't think Adams is an on ground keeper, maybe a D7.

Averaging 93 with just one score below 80. Based on what most defenders are dishing up this year that's very good

Luxury trade at this stage, or the last spot I'd upgrade

Yeah not in no hurry to get rid of him but I don't expect to keep it up all season that's all.

Will probably tire out in the second half of the season.
