Glad he's OK. Big hit.Silver lining in SC tho... Anyone else looking at him as a Ruck option in 2 weeks for about $500K the week before they play Port?

Who needs a R2 option once the season as started? Set & Forget

Yep, Hindsight. I rolled the Dice on Z.Smith in hopes that Goldy would drop in price and snap him up about round 5-7. But I'll take Steph if its a clean swap after that hit.

My trade plan hinges on him playing. Reckon he's doubtful at best, but we'll see over the next few days...

I am desperately hoping he isn't out but if he is... Nic Nat vs. Gawn?

Don't think there is any chance of him playing this week but lets wait till we see how scans went

Spite

Cox is a good chance of coming in so that may ease the burden of having to trade Smartin out

QuoteBRISBANE Lions ruckman Stefan Martin has passed his first concussion test and is now considered a good chance to play the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night.

Martin was floored by Gold Coast vice-captain Steven May in his team's 13-point win at the weekend and played no further part after being stretchered off just before half-time.

May apologised to Martin both on full-time and the following day but is expected to be sanctioned by the Match Review Panel or be sent straight to the Tribunal.

Martin passed his first concussion test on Monday but will undergo further testing during the week to assess his availability to play the Bulldogs.

Lions defender Tom Cutler said Martin was doing well.

"I saw him this morning, he's in good spirits," Cutler said.

"His health is number one and football after that. We think he'll be OK."

happy for my SC but he was concussed before his head hit the ground.  I believe in a mandatory 1 week rest for concussions and umpires continue to focus on above head and unnecessary hits.    MR should give May 6+ weeks

There is still a possibility that as the week goes on he may deteriorate and not pass subsequent tests,  it was a very solid hit and as Crowls said was out before he hit the ground. Will wait further into the week to assess especially with headaches he had Sunday night.

Reviewed a bunch of options that ranged from donut to mcox to tippett to lycett to hickey to griffen.
Decided that probably not going to get a better time to trade up to Goldy.  Can do trade with Papley to Ruggles.
1.   Get best ruckman and another C option
2.   Goldy demonstrated on track for 120+ ( At start of season i thought he might come down to 110-115)
3.   Avoid any potential problems with Martin recovery.  (Remebmer Brodie Smith last year)
Done,  just need to leave the reverse button alone for rest of the week.

smashbox

Will be picking him up when he bottoms out after that 65.

will you reverse the trade if Martin starts on the weekend?   Not worried about after effects lingering on.

if he plays i wouldnt sideways! he may get a 90-100 if hes not quite right but i chose him for the whole season so his price is irrelevant as a keeper! just not accepting getting a donut at this stage of the season!
