I don't subscribe to the golden rule = never go sideways.. There are situations it really needs to be done sometimes and to stick to a rule that to be honest is a little outdated, we have 30 trades now it's not the old 20 trade days. If it's clear their not going to perform at the level you expected and costing you games and ranking while going down in price sometimes you have pull the trigger early while they still have enough value to get to a safer option.

If you add up the trades you have left and what needs to be done to your team + a few trades for injury finals and the books balance then do it, beats sitting there watching your team fail week in week out.

I'm interested in knowing peoples thoughts of getting Ruggles a week early. You obviously run the risk of him getting injured from now until his 3rd game but what about his JS?

Coach Scott said, he was stiff not to be playing from round 1, good sign if ever I saw one.

Very well said Grazz.

Thurlow injury of course made way for him and i was waiting to see if they gave Cowan the nod ahead of him, it seems not
so i reckon his JS should be good unless he under preforms a few games in a row.

I don't mind Zaha at all with Essendons situation they are relying on him heavily and his scores have improved and consistent because of it. I think Worsfold and the changes at the Bombers are really agreeing with him.

At some point all the mid pricers that turned into prems were cheap, the only difference is at what price people jumped on them.
Some coaches need them to reach top dollar so they feel secure about grabbing them.
Some coaches way up the pro's and cons and if it looks like a solid enough risk they go for it and save a chunk of cash.
Play this caper on the safe side all the time then you'll safely rank ok but you make it hard to win it for yourself.
The old saying "you gotta risk it to get the biscuit" is extremely relevant to Fantasy Footy.

I think Geelongs defensive depth will allow them to have a bit of a horses for courses defensive line up this year. However in saying that I fully expect Ruggles to be given every chance to cement his spot. They love his aggression and composure! I still won't be going a week early on him though.

Love the in depth respone, cheers Grazz! I'm more going for overall and playing Mills or Menadue for Crouch will probably set me back a bit in terms of points scored and while I'm probably trading Milera out too early, he doesn't look like he has much more to make anyway and Ruggles is looking like a good option. Think I've just convinced myself to do this :-X

Haha i'm one of those who simply can't give a short answer mate. Probably one of the reasons I don't give advice to often and the second reason is who am I to think I know better than anyone else, that to holds me back also.

Hey guys, I posted this on the St Kilda board but not sure how soon i'll get a response. Perhaps someone here has some insight?

Hey boys, just wondering if you can fill me in on Dylan Roberton's role in the first three games thus far? Considering him for SC Draft (he was dropped in my league!). He seems to be racking up enough touches, have they been ineffective?

He's out for a few weeks injured, having to trade him out myself
