That last one is hardly a big call now that Sir Daniel is out :(

Holy crap it actually happened.

I have decided to scrap negative scores for incorrect calls as it favours those who join in later/don't participate as often.
To encourage more participants to get involved, a rolling lockout will now come into place (rather than a Friday Night lockout)
Feel free to submit 'Big Calls' for the remainder of the week's games.
Congratulations to LaHug for that fantastic call  ;D

Mitch McGovern will score 80+ SC points against Hawthorn.
Goldy will get 50+ hitouts against Gold Coast.
Hawkins will kick 5+ goals against Port Adelaide.

Mitch McGovern scored 73 SC points. Fail.
Goldy got 24 hitouts. Fail.
Hawkins kicked 1 goal. Fail.

Since I am allowed 5 big calls, with the new rolling lockout system my last 2 for the round are...

Dylan Shiel will score 130+ SC points against the Saints.
Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti will win the ANZAC Medal.

HappyDEZ

I reckon I should get a point for being that far off the mark. I couldn't be further off it if I tried. Big call career in jeopardy. Better lift me game!

Round 5 Wrap

Incorrect Calls

SydneyRox
"Swans to beat Eagles by 60+" - Not too far off! The wet weather probably prevented this one.

BomberSam
"Mitch McGovern will score 80+ SC points against Hawthorn." - Only 7 points short!
"Goldy will get 50+ hitouts against Gold Coast." - Not too close on this one.
"Hawkins will kick 5+ goals against Port Adelaide." - Power forwards from both sides weren't dominant
"Dylan Shiel will score 130+ SC points against the Saints." - Big chance in a big win, but Shiel was pretty quiet
"Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti will win the ANZAC Medal." - Shame, would have been a popular winner

Grufflez
"Aaron Hall scores in the 70's (SC)" - Hall wasn't massive, but he still managed 90
"St Kilda beat GWS" - Sainters were well beaten by the Giants - even though I tipped them!

HappyDEZ
"Port win." - It was looking good at quarter time...
"Boak wins the Peter Badcoe VC medal." - It was never going to a Port player after their performance
"Goldy goes 150+ in SC." - Another that was looking good at quarter time, but no such luck
"Joe Daniher kicks 6+." - Essenden were lucky to kick 6 between them!
"Freo win by 60+ points." - Nope. Poor Freo.

LaHug
"Essendon win." - Would have made for a nice story, sadly not.
"Richmond to beat Melbourne by more than the Doggies beat Brisbane." - Tiges let you down there!

Correct Calls

Grufflez
"Pendlebury goes 130+ (SC)" - He just got there after scaling! Just the 1 point for this one though. (1)

LaHug
"Callum Mills outscores Priddis in SC." - Our first 'Massive Call' comes in the first week! Congratulations LaHug! (3)

T Dog
"Freeo lose again" - I couldn't accept your other two as they don't meet the criteria - but this was correct, a very big call! 2 points! (2)

Leaderboard - Round 5
LaHug - 3pts
T Dog - 2pts
Grufflez - 1pt

Leaderboard - Overall
LaHug - 3pts
T Dog - 2pts
Grufflez - 1pt

Final Word
Congratulations to our 3 correct callers, especially to LaHug for what was undoubtedly a massive call.
Hopefully a few more people will get involved, joining our Round 5 callers who will hopefully go 'round again.
Reminder: The rolling lockout now applies! You can submit calls for any game from now up until the bounce.
Calls that apply to more than one game must be made before the first game of the week, usually Friday nights.

How is Freo losing to Carlton not a massive call!

Torpedo10

Some early ones:

- Goldy to go Sub 90 against the Dogs.
- Liberatore top SC scorer against North.
- Bulldogs by more than four goals.

That much is true, if it really is a dud call on my part, I am more than happy to upgrade the call to a 'Very Big Call' and award an additional point. Is that the general consensus?

Tbh I'd be calling it a bigger call than Mills beating Priddis, but that's just me
