Zach Merrett

Can any Essendon experts tell me about this bloke, what type of player/what type of scorer do you think he can get? He was in my pre-season squad as a potential breakout player but the whole WADA thing put me off him. But it seems like the Dons are a more competitive than expected so is he a good pick?

Essendon have been more competitive than most would have thought, though we're only 2 games into a very long season. I can't see it lasting too long to be honest. Merett I think will be good for around 90 for the season with rollercoaster scores, don't bank on anything higher imo

he doesn't have many flaws at all i cant think of any has some pace, uses the ball well, good under pressure, tackles well

i had him in my side most of the preseason but went with A Hall instead

very smart kid my mates sister was his teacher at school

i'm considering trading Rocky to him and put Wells in the mid as i think Zerrett will be a top 10 forward

if you look at his scores last year his lowest wast 69 so very consistent

I started Zerrett this year. Had a great year last year, and will get a stack more mid time this year for obvious reasons.
He is a tackling machine, and a very smart player.

His low game last year was a respectable 73.
Plenty to like here.

believe he had 2 clangers in the 1st qtr so was a good recovery

Ditto. Glad I jumped on and wasted money, points and a trade! Didn't notice how much of a seagull he is until today. Will be another Stanton, total downhill skier.

Looking on the bright side.....that goal he kicked in last qtr got me over the line in one of my leagues by 3 points  :P
