Can't see Freo playing like shizen for the whole season. I feel like all Freo players have at least a 5-10 point boost when they pull their shower together. Can't be too long now.... *tumbleweeds*

I feel like Freo are done they have pretty much committed to a rebuild under Ross Lyon by extending his contract by another 2 years
(so 5 more years)

Game plan needs to be drastically updated, rule changes have the game moving even faster with less stoppages, this suits Freo's
game strangulation style even less.

Even if they bring in Cam McCarthy or another forward next season this won't change the fact that their current list has been taught
to play a particular way for a long time now and i doubt their current list can adapt.

Lyon is quoted as saying that the game is all about pace & precision skills now which the Dockers lack.

Calling it now, Fremantle are going to struggle to make the 8.

Trying to work out how Barlow's season unfolds from here is tough as i reckon he might not be on their list next season.

I'm still 50/50 on saving the trade and hoping they just let him enjoy his last year (at Freo) in the midfield.

These are just my opinions and observations, feel free to bump this at the end of the year if it all turns out to be incorrect and i will eat some humble pie.

This was also covered well in Talking Footy on Monday night.   Also reading stats today on a couple of links from tooserious and Freo was 9 places lower than their position on the ladder in comparitive scoring ability.   I agree with Gruff and believe Freo likely to be 11/11 at best and miss top 8.   


If this is the case and TF beleives Ross outlined his strategy for rebuilding the list before the contract extension then Barlow is toast this year and probably be playing for Bombers or Melbourne or North the following year.    Even more reason to trade the bugger.    I am trying to hold the trade hold the trade hold the trade.  However everything I see and hear supports Barlow at HF for bulk of year and probably scoring his lowest SC average.

Had the cash to do it last week, now I am short and can only afford Zaha.    So I am holding off and hoping like hell he makes 100,   in your shoes I would do it.

Geez, you guys are making me have second thoughts!

I was all set to keep him, but just worked out I can go Gresham>Ruggles (via a couple of DPP moves) and Barlow<Zorko. Hmm tempted, but being realistic I'm going for league more than overall, so probably should settle down and save trades.
