Hey H

My concern is that I can't be confident he is still a premium.

Playing out of position means scores in the 60 - 90 range, playing sporadically means a rookie's score of 50 - 80.

Playing m ids - fine hold but nah.

When he is out he isn't making money like a rookie would be. Also limits flexibility of one's team.

If this keeps up he (his spot in your team) will average around 70 - 75 AND lose you money (granted not this week).

I think Selwood will be more expensive by next week, will make a lot more points than either Milera or Menadue (my on field alternatives if I hold Barverylow) this week, and will help me win my cash league match up against a team who of course doesn't have Barlow.

Also H, spellcheck  :P

keeping for now. hopefully he's back next week. damn you ross lyon, damn you!

Hazza09

Now that he's been named in the WAFL its clearly not an injury or a "Rest"
Surely a form thing and he's been dropped. Could get ugly in my opinion and if he doesn't get picked net week then its clear he isn't in Lyons plans for 2016.

His BE is 105. Obviously won't lose any value this week but more importantly wouldn't lose a heap if he plays the following week so maybe gets one more chance if selected.

Downside is that money on the bench

$1,787,600 worth of injuries on that fine pine of mine  >:(

Raiden

Starting to think now that the Barlow > Merrett trade i did a few week's back may pay off in the long run this year...

TOG is important:

1:85% -61 (but 84DT)
2:77% - 60
3:72% - 99
4:68%- 81
5:92% - 128
6:86% -134
7: 69% - 67

I would say from that he actually hasnt been too bad. its been his time on ground. when he was getting good minutes he has been scoring. His first 2 rounds he was bad but from round 3 onwards he actually has been scoring alot of PPM.

I went back to 2015

78, 61,77,84,80,86,72,82,80 to estimate that his usual time on ground is 77% which is actually lower then i thought.

This is advice evolves as i research. i didnt expect to see these numbers i also noted that he pumped out 140 on a 72% TOG game thats insane.

If i now standardize his scoring to 77% TOG it looks like this

55, 60, 106, 92, 107, 120, 77

so based off the last 5 rounds thats a 100 average and looks fairly decent.

all jokes aside i dont think ross will tank and will want to start racking up wins as im not sure he will want to finish bottom 4. Have you seen the draw freo has after this week?

Tigers, Saints, Essendon, Lions, Port, Collingwood. Now I would say freo is capable of winning all of those games ,im not saying they will win them all or even half but you cant pencil in a loss to any of them.

they have had a reasonably tough draw soo far

Dogs, Eagles, North , Adelaide, Giants in all honesty losing to any of those isnt that bad.

Carlton and GC is but in fairness both teams where in a purple patch during those times.

Different feeling to week we traded him in, isn't it.  Is there an emoji for ironic smile?

He only played 69% game time who knows why ask Ross Lyon , this guy is getting stranger  :o

are they tanking to get petrevski from WA?

basically if barlow isnt injured, there needs to be a tanking allegation. he was solid the last 2 weeks in the mids and now with fyfe out they need to play him.
::) Ringo said the same thing in the matchday thread and I didn't think it even deserved a response...
But

a) 70% isn't THAT low
A lot of mids go at 75-80% TOG

b) Tanking? lol. Keeping one guy (who isn't even our most damaging player) off the ground for literally a few extra minutes to lose the game. Ross is a genius

LordSneeze

I wouldn't be worried if he was dropped and rested, but the fact he played <70% TOG and that he has been named in the WAFL has me slightly concerned.
Don't want to sideways him until the team is completed but it is a cause to keep an eye on him.

TomK

I think I might trade him, even if he is back next week, I don't want a 'premium' who after one bad week, has the potential to be dropped.

After a restless night, much gnashing of teeth and hand wringing, this is my conclusion also.

Hold for now.

If Barlow is your biggest problem, congrats

Hold for the time being

He is gone from my team in all 3 formats I don't think he has any future with Freo next year , he will probably play some more footy this year AFL that is but it is all to vague so bye bye Mr Barlow

Leaning this way aswell.... i feel that even if i do trade Barlow it won't come to much as my opponent this week doesn't have Laird or Barlow and basically had a full premo midfield.

if he isn't named next week he's gone!
