North Melbourne by far the most boring team in the competition to watch.

My take on the game now that I am home from the game. Temperature at start of game was showing 32 degrees.  With the sweating involved and onto ball may account for all the mishandling.

The boys need to go a different kicking school not the one recommended by Travis Cloke. 4/11 at half time was atrocious but we should have been more in front at quarter time as well 2.7 not good either. If we had of kicked straight would have had more pressure on North.

I was surprised that Martin finished over Goldy and was more agile around the ground. I trust Leppa keeps the boys playing this attacking football and just because skills let us down does not revert.  It was exciting to watch the movement at times from the boys although at times we seemed to revert back to handpassing to players under pressure.

I cringe everytime I see Matthew Nicholls down to umpire us and tonight he was again inconsistent.  not saying the frees were not there but needs to go both ways. Especially the in the back rule interpretation.  Gifted North 3 goals and Brisbane should have had at least one.  Frees favoured North 22 - 16. In saying that umpires did not cost us the game the poor early kicking did.

Rich was completely tagged out of the game by Jacobs - When Jacobs was a late in wondered who he would go to.  Was never any more than a metre from Rich and when went Rich to interchange so did Jacobs.  Have not seen a tag that tight for a while so there were excuses.

Bastinac seems to have taken over the redden role with 10 contested possessions for the night which inflated his SC score.

Tom Rockliff had his calf worked on quite a bit and spent most of 3rd quarter in forward. To me he does not look 100%

Should have did the trade I was thinking off Robbo to Zorko but that may be a popular one this week.

Lions players who need to lift to retain positions as senior players come back are Mayes and Harwood.  Both have been extremely disappointing in the 2 outings. Merrett was his usual self although he organised the defence well gave away stupid penalties of which only one I would consider dubious.

Waite was allowed too much latitude gy Gardiner who gave three free kicks away and may be cited for a front end bump as well. 50 metre was awarded.

All in all pleased with the effort as it was only a 5 goal defeat  not the thrashing we had at Norths hands last year,

frenzy

North dropped atleast 20 marks today and thank heavens we weren't playing a good team, because a good team would make you pay for that garbage. Both teams kicking at goal was also crud. It was pretty painfull to watch.

Didn't we get sucked in by the Harwood hype. Well done to those who didn't pick him. Captain Potato!!
