I hope Milera plays better next week or I will jump on Papley and pocket the much needed change...

Not too worried atm
Interesting decision coming up
Pap has a - 145 B/E this week and is projected to rise to $220k in Rd 3
Milera has a B/e of 18 and is only predicted to rise $14k
So a real no brainer for Rd 3 if Papley is still playing a gain of nearly $200k.

YoungGun

got a feeling it could be Milera/Gresh to the sydney boys if they both line up rnd 3

If he averages 104 rounds 1-3 he will be 210-220k.

That's a big if though

fanTCfool

My bad, I misread as rise by $220k, not rise to $220k

Still possible, would only need to average around 200 :)

Ringo

Will depend on his score next week and staying in team.

Judd Magic

I don't think I have any major problems with my team.

Would like a correction rookie or 2 and maybe Jessie Lonergan for the backline.

Here is my team as it stands now -

B - Shaw, Boyd, Laird, Weitering, Dea, Adams (Tippa, Brown)
C - Ablett, Fyfe, Dangerfield, Rockcliff, Libba, B.Crouch, Mills, Oliver (Menadue, Gresham, Davis)
R - Goldstein, Gawn (Gotez)
F - Barlow, S.Gray, Hall, Wells, B.Kennedy, Kerridge (McCarthy, Petracca)

Maybe Gresham > Hewett

Or

B.Crouch > Hewett and Dea > Lonergan?

Or

Barlow > Hewett via Menadue and Brown/Tippa > Lonergan

Will wait till round 3 and see what happens.....

Staying in the team is the key point. And it has nothing to do with how well they perform.

The Swans don't respect overachieving kids. Tom Mitchell being the prime example. Papley and Hewett will certainly line-up against the Blues, but it wouldn't surprise me if one or both are sent to paddock by Rd 5.

Form has nothing to do with it with this team & coach. Don't overthink it. I went with Hewett because I only felt I could gamble with one (and then only because of the lack of other midfield Rookies). If you don't have either, for sure, bring in one. But if you already have one, absolutely do not use up a trade to bring in the other (and certainly do NOT trade out Gresham or Milera!!).

Rule: take the Rookie who has the highest probability of playing the first 8 games over the Rookie that has the highest probability of scoring 80+ points in any given Rd, but with less job security.

Some sound logic but Milera stands every chance of being axed over the next couple of weeks, there's Knight, Cameron and Menzel breathing down his neck.

Which confirms my point. If you already have a player with a JS query, why use up a trade for another player with a JS query simply because they came out of the gates firing in Rd 1? It's the same story every season. Papley isn't going to play 22 games and average 100. I mean, it feels ridiculous pointing this out, but really, what are we talking about here?

With the lack of Rookie options, and the serious question of JS for most of them, if you have someone who played Rd 1 hold on for another week at least... and even then, stick with the player you've chosen. Especially if it's Milera or Papley. If you made a mistake of choosing Milera over Papley, don't compound it and make it two mistakes by using up a trade to go to Papley, and see him dropped/rested in Rd 4.

For the record, I don't have Papley: I opted for Hewett in the mids; McCarthy/McDonald-Tippa on my FWD bench; & Hartley at D8. In an ideal world I'd have Mcdonald-Tippa at D8 & Papley at F8. I got Papley wrong, but I must live with that.

Trades need to be treated like bars of gold from this moment forward.
