If Rocky misses more than 2... need to act unfortunately. Midfield rookies aren't doing scoring so well
Can you DPP Kerridge?

billnats

No Midfield link... Thus why I'm thinking Rocky to Hall. Allows for DPP from here on in.

Barlow to Johanissen allows the same with other rookies (D/F).

I have always lived by the "never trade a prem" motto so it will hurt if I do it!

steven3

thinking:

barlow --> libba
rocky --> ablett/robbie gray

unsure on trading out premos but having nailed every rookie choice bar hartley cause his a week late, i feel i can adjust these two premos cause they just dont look like putting up big scores at the moment

thoughts?

I missed out on papley and bennedy would i be crazy to do
Barlow > papley
Rocky > bennedy
This creates a fwd-mid link and nets me 850k the week after to upgrade degoey and seeds and still have 400k left over for future upgrades

I dont think trading two premos for rookies will help your point scoring very well

If you missed hall I would bring him in for barlow and then pick one of paps or kennedy

otherwise i would pick a premium mid for rocky and then go barlow to paps

I would do one of them probably barlow to papely.

if have gresham then bring in kennedy for him.

then you got the cash to upgrade degoey.

If no gresham would do degoey to kennedy

Action plan:

Rocky -- Parker

Barlow -- Papley

Leaves me 427K in the bank. The problem here is I only started with 2 FWD premos (Barlow & Hall), so I will batting one short. The strategy, assuming there are no other fires to put out in the coming weeks, is to swing Brown into the Forward line and Macdonald-Tippa into Defence, and in a 2-3 weeks, after two small price rises:

Brown -- D.Martin

(I have the money to do Brown - Zorko next week, but would prefer to sit on it).

Ringo

Need to sort out what is priority this week.

Papley in is a must but who for gresham the likely target via DPP but would give me 2 mid rookies with DPP on mids bench.  Or Go Milera/McCarthy to Papley. (Milera redeemed himself this week). B/E Milera -20, McCarthy -23 and Gresham 3.

Then which premium to attack although loathe to change premiums.

Prems giving me concerns Bartel, Shaw, Lonergan, Rocky, Barlow, Robbo.  Rucks are also bleeding cash but thisnk most in same boat.  Pendles will also lose cash this week as well.

Not sure what to do so will wait for injury reports as that may also decide.

billnats

Gresham not gonna hurt keeping an extra week. If Harley does well again, I will take the whack of an early trade of Gresham and still make 50K from it.

Barlow for Hall & Rocky for Gray for me.... although I've never liked Gray's consistency.

@ringo

I am curious about the goss on M Robinson's calf.

I can't remember the last time someone came back 1-2 weeks after a calf, generally 3-5 being generous.

Barlow and Robinson are my only worries currently FWD wise and i need to get papley in.

Ringo

Robbo would be in extreme doubt for this weekend as well.  Just hope he is not rushed back if both Rich and Rocky are out.  Keays had 39 touches in the NEAFL so should be a reliable replacement.  Robbo is not losing cash so I can sit him on the bench and thinking of Trading Gresham through him to Papley.

tyronee

was assuming he'd miss another week minimum but was fearful it's a 5-6 weeker and the classic footyclub mentality of saying its 1-2 and losing head to head matchups because I'm down a premium

So after all the dust has settled. My issues are Barlow, Rocky and Harwood.

I will sit in Barlow as I picked him for a reason and has been previously stated he is being played out of position. Given how woeful Freo has been it shouldn't be long before he's attending centre bounces again.

Rocky will just be a wait and see, no urgency on him at this stage.

Harwood however is sucking big balls! Think I'll swap him out for Papley via Tippa DPP.

If necessary I can trade Gresham for a seemingly better scoring rookie but wouldn't know who is significantly better than he is, any suggestions?

Ringo

Do you have a forward DPP that you can trade Gresham to Papley through and then do Harwood to Hartley if you have not got him. Will give a fair amopunt of cash for upgrades.

Colty

With Rocky, you have to remember he had no pre season so he would be spending extended time up forward until he gets his match fitness up and then its midfield time which means premium numbers!

I already have Hartley, started with him. I do have DPP with mid - Bennedy, Kerridge, Menadue, Petraca. I started Petraca simply because I wasn't sure who to use as my final mid spot.

Are you suggesting to stick with Harwood a bit longer and reassess further down the track?

Huttabito

Annoyed that I missed the Robinson -> Z.Merrett trade this week by seconds and now have to deal with Rocky/Barlow aswell. Would be so much easier this week if I didn't miss it.

Papley is definitely coming into my side the week and also don't have Libba, but may have to miss out on him all together, as I don't particularly want to double downgrade two premiums and be left with $650,000 in the bank as i won't be able to do much with it over the short term.

Such a conundrum this week. I think I need to bite the bullet and back in 2 of these guys and trade someone out like Gresham, but who is the question.
