I agree Bully. I'm considering. Milera is very much on the chopping block.

I'v got him at F7 with the E

Would like to take it, but not selecting a donut player in my forward line just to get his 80

If Bennedy and Milera can push 70 which isn't out of the picture, then I'll take the small loss in points and have all my players making money

It's only rd1. It's a marathon, not a sprint

Raisy has been flip flopping all over the shop this year, in any case I'll explain my Cockatoo stance. Firstly, I'm very keen to get some  PODs in my side, at the moment it's like one big cookie cutter factory. Why Cocky and not Petracca? Well he's out for 2 weeks and is almost certain to be selected in round 3, there's no way people will be downgrading Milera after only 2 price rises, therefore he becomes something of a wildcard in the head to head battles. The second point is he's perfect to loophole with Menadue and for the captain's loophole, in fact I wouldn't even be upset if he missed a third week given Geelong play last in round 3. You say it's not a marathon and that is correct but I don't see how you will be advantaged with an extra 2 weeks of price rises unless you burn a trade for a paltry amount.

In any case, I think Cocky has better JS than Milera and combined with a Menadue loophole, better scoring potential. Petracca will be missing for up to 6 weeks so he makes zero sense to me and will be a downgrade target.
I'd probably do this. If I had Menadue forward. :-[

This happens every year, you can't sacrifice your team setup and cash generation for a few extra rookie points on the field in round 1

I have Menadue's 80 on the mid bench with the E.

I'd have to drop one of Mills or Oliver to a floating dount and the only realistic option I see is Petracca.

I'd rather just take the hit and hope Mills/Oliver score similarly

What the hell did what I say have to do with Cockatoo or Petracca?

Saying Cockatoo is a better choice than Milera is completely fine - but it has nothing to do with what I said so I don't understand why you quoted me and said that

I quite like the idea of picking Cocky over Milera, and to be honest it wasn't even in my thoughts when I said I'd rather just keep Bennedy and Milera because they've been named

Just responded to the the line about selecting a donut player, which Cocky is for the first 2 weeks. In saying that I can't see any point in picking Petracca who will be missing for up to 6 weeks and could well spend a fair stint in the ressies.

RaisyDaisy

Well Petracca played in their match simulation today so perhaps he isn't that far?

enzedder

I thought Petracca was likely back R3... if it could be R6...I've got more thinking to do. This is doing my head in now. M.McGovern in. Going around in circles :-\

RaisyDaisy

Petracca is no good for loophole purposes of the first 2 rounds anyway so makes sense to just bring him in later

Bully has me thinking about Cockatoo. My only concern is that Cockatoo is a 50-65 scorer, and at that price I just can't see him making much money. I guess Milera might be a similar scorer, but i think he can go 70

Yeah I'm in the same situation (Mills my only option of dropping) and will take the same approach.

dmac07

I had him on the field but no way in hell would I brong in a donut to get his score. If you play Oliver, Gresham etc and they score a 50-60 (but could easily go 70-80), youve lost that cash generation for 20-30 points in round 1. He wouldve have to have gone 110 to ev em consider it i think.

sammy123

to anyone wondering i wasn't trading to get the points i already had petracca as a floating donut in case this happened.

but turns out i changed my team set up and menadue was on field in fwd line

spudaroos

Are people seriously considering bringing in donuts for 80 points???? It's not like he scored a 170, relax.
