Dublin Destroy Duck

It was 5th time the charm for Dublin, FINALLY beating the London Royals for the first time in 4 and a bit years. The Royals would still be reasonably pleased by some of the promise of its new youthful-look of its list, but the Destroyers are... well, arguably the best team in the comp. Dublin top-scored for the round with 153... I thought it was an oddly low scoring round...

Suns Rise from Premiership Festivities

*whistles*, this could be one of the lowest scores Mexico City will post for the whole season, but they still managed to hang on for the win against a much improved but still developing New Delhi outfit. It was a tough tussle early, but the premiership experience overpowered the Tigers in the end, who would still be looking at this season with a sense of optimism. I mean... look at all those club debutants!

Moscow justify Elimination Final win

This was quite an interesting match right up until the end! Guthrie and Motlop had a gettable but optimistic 237 points to win but unfortunately for Pacific, they didn't come close to reaching that target. You could say... Jesse Hogan, whom was on about 30 SC points half way through the third quarter, was the difference as he blitz home to finish on 103. Moscow was also one of two teams this week to not have a club debutant (if you don't count WXVs debutant Wayne Milera)

Pacific Islanders (20.10.130) lost to Moscow Spetsnaz (22.9.141)

Jaguars win thriller in recount!

This was quite an entertaining game! It featured 11 centurions, the first instance of the modified sub rule, the return of GAJ and an almost costly resting! In the end, the margin (after I was stupid and it was pointed out to me I hadn't added up the emergencies which changed the result) was 3 SC points! Wow, what a match! The Reindeers can consider themselves quite unlucky, as they would have beaten 13 other teams this week. PNL was the only team this week to not hand the guernsey to a new player!

Thunder Claps Spook Magpies

The heralded new look Beijing midfield has delivered Beijing its first win and 6th highest score of the week! Despite the herculean effort of (perma) Captain Dangerfield, Seoul needed more to chip in to get over the line. Still, debutant Clayton Oliver looks like he is a guarantee for the WXVs rising star at least, even if he doesn't get nominated this week.

Seoul Magpies (20.11.131) lost to Beijing Thunder (23.6.144)

Tokyo send home Bruised Brewers

Not gonna lie, pretty peeved that my new look Brewers that I was convinced would be a power this year couldn't even crack 130 this week. But at least I lost to more than worthy opponents (whom scored the second highest score of the week!), to a coach that knows what he is doing. The Samurai have shocked me, and having been on the receiving end of them, they can definitely make the finals.

Tokyo Samurai (24.8.152) def Berlin Brewers (20.6.126)

Toga

Stoked with that start to the season! With our midfield now looking so nice I'm confident we can match it with some of the big teams 8) But no Grundy this week and our backline was a bit of a worry, we are going to have to hope for a few inclusions down back to help us out in coming weeks.

Saints clear out rust against Timid Wolves

The Saints would be relieved at the win, but know they can do much better. With so much quality depth, they will be able to repeatedly replace the stragglers, and if they pick a captain that will score 100+, then its an easy bridge to 140+. The Wolves got the second lowest score of the week, but unlike teams that look to be at the bottom end in previous years, they have depth they can call on, evidence from their competitive showing against Wellington. This team also has scope to improve within the season as well.

Wow, resting cost the win. Burns a lot
Consider ourselves very lucky! Bad luck Levi but good signs for next week with Zaha rested. Was quite a tight game after that Suns match gave us a huge scare :-X.

Bad week for PNL injury wise, Swan + Hodge expected to miss 1.5+ months each. Going to test our depth so hopefully a few players decide to start playing Seniors soon :(.
