Backs: Houli, kk, rich, weitering, broad, brown (Adams, hartley)
Mids: Fyfe, Ablett, danger, rockliff, Greene, B Crouch,  Libba, Mills (Gresham, keays, davis)
Rucks: Goldstein, Gawn (Grimley)
Forwards: Martin, Barlow, Hall, Wells, Kennedy, Kerridge (Menadue, Mcdonald T).
Any thoughts would be great. I only have 20 thousand left. Can't afford Dea in defence. Pretty happy so far. Thanks

Bully

Broad is touch & go, you may have to replace him as there's a strong chance he doesn't get named. Not sure I can understand playing Greene in the mids either, this spot should be taken up with a potential top 10 midfielder, there's a few value bets like Parker, Selwood & Sidebottom.

Glenmaggie

Hmmm, good points. The theory was parker and a rookie or crouch and greene. Think I'll get more points out of crouch and greene. Thinking to move greene forward eventually. You've got me thinking. Thanks

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Returning favour, thanks for the rate.

DEF: Solid defence, as mention in my reply, I'm surprised at the number of people leaving Shaw out. Will be #1 defender, yes he's expensive, but a consistent 110 average is too hard to pass up. Weitering over Dea? Both have JS issues, I'm going Dea simply because debutant key defenders haven't ever done well in the past.

MID: Greene in the mids is an interesting move, most people find that any high scoring MID/FWD player generally gets put up FWD. Any reason for this? Gresham on the bench is too much money, generally look to have anyone $123k or under.

RUC: No issues, very solid.

FWDS: Similarly with Gresham, Menadue shouldn't be on the bench.

OVERALL: Only recommendation would be:

Ben Kennedy -> Christian Petracca, then swap Petracca onto bench for Menadue.
Jade Gresham -> mid rookie.

Toby Greene -> Ollie Wines

Good luck anyway!

Glenmaggie

Hmmm, thanks heaps for the feedback. In thinking of moving greene forward eventually. Now I'm not sure! I'm having another play with it now.

Okay, so the updated changes, based on your feedback! I like it so far, only concern is 7 thousand left and worried about rookies. I have gotten rid of weitering and kennedy.

Backs: Houli, Laird, Rich, Dea, Hartley, Brown (Broad, Adams)
Mids: Fyfe, Danger, Ablett, Rockliff, Cripps, Libba, B. Crouch, Mills (Davis, Keays, Davis)
Rucks: Goldstein, Gawn (Wyatt)
Forwards: Martin, Barlow, Hall, Wells, Menadue, Kerridge (McCarthy, McDonald Tip)

Thoughts please. I am worried about the rookies and about not having at least 1 mid/forward in the mids for security.
Would love some feedback

Ringo

Not sure how much cash you have left as I feel you will need to adjust.  Note you have 2 Davis so assuming Ryan and Abe.

Broad, Abe Davis, Keays I can not see playing Rd 1 and McDonald Tipp and Ryan Davis needs elevating. You could move one of Menadue or Kerridge to mids to replace one and introduce DPP.

Cripps as M5 will be a make or break effort for you.

So ensure you have contingincies in place for rookies not named

Glenmaggie, there's a lot I like about this team, and I'd be tempted to roll with it as it stands.

Our point of difference really comes down to structure, as I don't think you can count on Broad & McCarthy to play enough games to generate the cash you need for upgrades pre- the byes. As much as I'd like to have 3 premo Forwards, I think one needs to be sacrificed (personally, I'm starting with Barlow + Hall + Rookies).

Downgrade 1 Premium to Kennedy.

The cash would be used to:

Defence: upgrade Broad to Weitering

Midfield: upgrade Cripps to Pendles (I'm a Blues boy. Believe me, this is a hard thing for me to recommend. Not because Cripps won't take it to another level, but because you want your top 5 mids to be in the top 8 mids overall by September).

Forwards: upgrade McCarthy to Milera

But really... leave it as it is and you may smash it. It comes down to personal taste and gut-feel at this late stage of the pre-season. My feedback centres around the fact you have such a good starting crop, you don't want to be let down by the players on the bench who need to be generating cash for you.

Good luck for the season, Glenmaggie! And thank you for your feedback on my team over the weekend :)

Woops, I have A Davis and Gresham. Rookies are really difficult. Would like Milera and Weitering and Kennedy but can't afford them all

Great feedback, rookies are clearly a problem, particularly for cash generation purposes. I am stuck here. I love my team for round 1, but the rookies. I am concerned about taking only 2 premo forwards into the season. Alright, having another play

Glenmaggie

So guys, in order to free up extra cash needed to get better rookies and turn cripps into hanneberry  (better option than pendles imo), who should i downgrade? Crouch, rich or hall?

ZEEMAN

I would downgrade Crouch. I think Rich is in for a good year and Hall can be a good POD.

Ringo

Go with gut for one of Libba or Crouch - Libbas last 2 outings in NAB cup were not very inspiring.

I think I'll keep as it is, wait for selections and downgrade when i need to. Any news on when rookies will be upgraded to lists prior to round one?
