Definately a contender, has been in and out of my side heaps of times over the pre-season .......... currently not in though. Had him at M8, but had the money to bring in DeGoey instead.

May still end up back in and pocketing the $$$

Nige

One I watched all through pre-season and finally slotted him into the midfield, solid pick I reckon.

Gigantor

If the cheap rookie situation is a complete disaster (which is look very likely) then I will definitely be considering him.

cortez

Shut up why don't you! He is shower, don't go near him!!!!

This is AFL.com's take on their best 22

B: Kyle Hartigan, Daniel Talia, Luke Brown
HB: Rory Laird, Jake Lever, Brodie Smith
C: Richard Douglas, Scott Thompson, Paul Seedsman
HF: Charlie Cameron, Taylor Walker, Tom Lynch
F: Eddie Betts, Josh Jenkins, Troy Menzel
FOLL: Sam Jacobs, Rory Sloane, Brad Crouch
INT: Matt Crouch, Curtly Hampton, Nathan van Berlo, Wayne Milera

Hampton is injured and Menzel is just not fit/good enough yet

Mackay, Cheney and Henderson are also fighting for a spot

Looking at their NAB 3 team (which we can only assume that most who played in that are in line for rd1)  all of these guys played that are not in the above "best 22"

Ellis-Yolmen
McGovern
Mackay
Cheney
Gore
Lyons

Mitch Grigg, Andy Otten and Riley Knight are also chances (Didn't play NAB 3 due to injury but are now right)

So essentially, everyone is available except for Hampton

Ellis-Yolmen
McGovern
Mackay
Cheney
Gore
Lyons
Henderson
Knight
Otten
Grigg
Atkins

With Cameron now fit I would say that there are possibly on 2 spots available (Menzel and Hampton) and the above list to choose from

I reckon Lyons is a good chance to grab one of them, but as for how long he can hold onto it remains to be seen

sammy123

i don't think he will stay in the side for long. but will great NAB performances could get a game rd1

If named R1 I'll be on him, get the feeling that he will make the most of his opportunity and keep his spot

TomK

You've hit the nail on the head there RD. I'll be very surprised if Lyons isn't playing round one, other spot probably goes to one of Mackay, Atkins or Knight if he is fit. Once Menzel and Knight get there fitness up, they'll be fighting with Lyons/Milera for a spot in the team.

BE of -35. anyone rate this guy? JS? i've gotta trade sam gray and just came across lyons! scores of 97 and 79, not bad.

Likely replacement for Brad Crouch when he is back which sucks because I really like Lyons as a player. Is a chance to hold his when Brad is back but it is too risky.

Adelaide having the same problems as GWS last year.  Way too much talent in the wings.

To think it's taken this long for Charlie Cameron to get a game..

Wouldn't touch.
