Does anyone think sidebottom can get back to his 110+ avg

Heard hes been training super well and is in for a big season just unsure wheather he will get much centre bounce times as hes more of an outside player

Yes, but I'd prefer him in DT and AF over SC.

agreed but will be a very handy POD

picking between himself, shiel parker, ward is very difficult

piesfan1989

Definitely has the potential to get back to 110 - I would have picked him 100% without a doubt if treloar wasn't coming in.. still a very good option and still in consideration

Whilst we're on the subject of SS, Shiel, Parker and Ward which of those 4 would you slot into your mids, if forced to, in the event of an emergency?  Just curious.

Very close out of Ward and Parker, but would prob lean towards Ward.

I have ward at the moment

My opinion: Ward > SS > Shiel (below SS due to durability) > Parker

Bully

Sidebottom has a monster tank, can only benefit from fewer rotations. This would be a good year to pick him.

Mat0369

I have it as Parker>Sidebottom>Ward>Shiel based on price vs scoring. If Parker and Sidebottom were cheaper it would be tougher to decide.

Keeper27

Will finish behind pendles as the pies best scorer and I've gone 5 uber mids. No for me

I don't understand the reasoning behind everyone looking so hard and picking POD early.

Picking the speculative pick might gain you 6-7 weeks where you have them over other people, but most top Sc'ers will have a super premium instead offsetting any gain in points. When they then bring them in you lose your POD and still need to bring in the Super Premo to cover their POD.
While you will also save a little cash to use elsewhere you will also need to find more cash to make upgrades to bring the super premos you didn't start in. Easier to bring in a Sidebottom than a Pendlebury.

Pick the solid top 10 for the position and upgrade to the premiums who are either fallen or looking like being top 10 aswell.
Its all about getting the right rookies to make enough cash to upgrade your full team and starting with players that finish in the top rankings for their positions.

Parker (Value pick)
Ward (Priddis 2.0)
Shiel (Most likely to get into the 120 club or frustrate)
Sidebottom (Collingwood supporters trying to relive the Pendles/Swan dream of 2011-2013)
