Petracca as a loophole option.

Big issue for me, if he's out for more than 3 weeks the exercise becomes very costly in $$ terms. Furthermore, Melbourne don't play Sunday games in the first 3 rounds although Martin & Pendles can be loopholed. Tough decision, don't know which way to go.

At this rate there are absolutely flower all cheap mid rookies available, and I'm not stacking my mid bench with 150-200k players

More or less locked at m11 unless other cheap options come forward

As for cash generation, we usually have r3 doing nothing so with Grimley now making money there I'm happy to have Petracca

Just to add to the debate, McCarthy at a 60 average would be on 220k after 3 price rises. Not sure if it's worth a trade on those grounds alone but if viewed as a correctional trade then a nice piece of compensation. The same goes for any player who may be dropped for poor form.

Holz

he is in my team but only because i couldn't find any 125k or less guy i wanted over him.

if for example broad plays round 1 its smarter if you think he can play 3-4 games to go to recca round 4 in say

Broad to Recca + 80k.

seems a waste of a trade but 80k can be usefull.

do a 150k downgrade a few weeks later and 230k can get a Mills to a Selwood. Without that 80k the gap is too far.

3 trades to get in Selwood for a mid rookie seems a smart move to me.

AaronKirk

Not in my team at this stage but will be if a lack of rookies are named next week.

Speculator

Don't think Roos will be in a rush to play him considering he has already missed a year on top of this recent injury. I think he'll be a terrific downgrade option that I won't want to miss out on. I'm leaving him out.

Holz

I will probably pick a rookie who is dropped or turns into a spud. Can be a corrective trade if he plays like round 3. If its later then downgrade.

worse case the bloke averages 40 and goes up 25k then bring in recca.

even a spuddy 50 is a 50k boost.

McCarthy at 60avg up to 220 down to petracca at round 5? I'll take that for sure

I reckon come the season proper, mccarthy will avg 45-50. 60 is pretty high, in my opinion

Jake Neade hit 300k, would be very pleased with something similar. Most small forwards hit the ton once or twice, JKH & Lonie are good examples. It only takes 1 big score to make money. As far as McCarthy is concerned, he averaged 60 in the NAB cup & Dangerfield really rates him. Could surprise I think.

I could be wrong but Neade wore the vest a couple of times too didn't he? Don't have to worry about that anymore
