How about Blitz?

Runs in his sleep, picked up the game with ease, leadership group already, SC tonnes for fun.

He tonned tagging Pendles ...  :o

he isnt a ruck he is a big mid. rucks score really good in SC ill take the rucks every day

What does him not being a ruck have to do with the price of fish?

All we care about is how many points a player can get. Not whethet they are getting them from taps , goals or ducking for free kicks.

Champion Data tagged him with an R, does that somehow capped his SC scoring ability?

Bully

Don't like his draw, that's the bottom line for me, Gawn on the other hand will benefit greatly from Melbourne's poor year. NN collected 4 disposals in the GF, he plays Hawthorn twice. Then there's Sandi in round 3 who has kept him to 76, 76 & 54, again twice. He faces Stef Martin who has kept him to 80 & 86, another two difficult games. Throw in Adelaide twice, and you already have 8 very tough games.

We'll know after round 3 if NN is in for a big year, if he scores a couple of tons then I would be confident he can maintain something close to 110.

And this is why I swapped him for Gawn.

Again sole rucks or elite mids score in sc.

He is the 3rd at best mid in the team.

If im tapping the ball down or handing it off its to danger or selwood

Blicavs an insane athlete, those guys are insane afl players

So you're saying you expect Blitz to drop in average this year? Or won't increase it? Or that 105 isn't good enough for R2?

All I see is a mature age rookie who broke out in his 3rd year like most Elite AFL players do.

Keeper27

105 is fine for R2.
He'll outscore jacobs and Mumford.
I only see NicNat goldy Martin and gawn doing better which makes him a top 5 ruck.

NN > Stef > Gawn

Just me though

Im saying he will get beaten by NN at a cheaper price and Goldy will smash him so pick those two over him so he isnt in the conversation.

Whether Gawn Martin are better picks that Blicavs to be honest I dont care.

As a mid I would spend 50-60k more and get in a real super premo like Pendles.

Keeper27

But you ain't picking up blitz as a mid though you're picking him up as a ruck.

agree but he is R/M

im not picking him in the Ruck as Goldy a lock and NN is better and cheaper.

im not picking him in the mid as for 60k more a super premo.

Hence he isnt a good pick.

I don't think any1 would pick him as a mid ...  ::)

Goldie is a lock at R1 so that eliminates him from the conversation, even though he was never in it to begin with.

I brought Blitz into the convo because Gawn , Martin et al. were suggested as possible R2's instead of NN.

Your response that a Midfielder doesn't make a good ruck make a good (R2) makes no sense.

Last year I went with the Gold/NN combo. It wasn't better than Gold/Blitz.

I'm not suggesting it will be this year ... and I'm in no way saying it's better than Gold/ Gawn/S.Mart

I just want to know why Blitz is not put into the same category when he's done the same thing and broken out in 2015.

Keeper27

That's what I was trying to get across.
You wouldn't pick him as a mid but a guy who can be picked in the ruck who plays through the mid who you'd think that would finish top 5 would be a decent pick.

He has as much chance to finish 105-110 as Martin/gawn/nicnat

I think what Holz is trying to say is that him playing as a midfielder for the Cats will hurt his score, rather than improve it, and hence won't be as good of a pick

correct.

rucks score well in SC this guy isnt a ruck he is just listed as a ruck. Now danger is in he is the 3rd best mid in his team at best. so he wont get points from HTA to advantage and If i had the ball in my hands or was tapping it down to anyone it would be given to danger selwood. so where does his points come from.

he will still get them but i think Martin NN Jacobs maybe even Gawn will score as well if not better and he isnt cheap like last year. so no upside only downside.

If there was a cheap F/M I actually would think about him either at r2 to swing into the mids or in the mids as a super backup. there isnt so he isnt a good pick in my view.

Keeper27

Fair call.
He'll still be top 5 at the end of season
That's just my gut feeling
