I just can't find a way to get all 3 into my side but I'm finding it very hard to split them. Which 2 should I start?

Same situation Quinny and at the moment I'm going Fyfe and Danger. Normally I would say leave Danger because he's joined a new team and you never know how that will work out, but given how he has torn up NAB he's hard to go past. So really the choice is between Fyfe and Pendles for me.

Fyfe got 58 from 44% TOG in his first outing back, then a 138 and a tagged 88, and has had 2 years on the trot at 120+. So those numbers make me believe he can very much back that up.

Pendles is a bit trickier. 112 and 68 from two runs in NAB so far, but prior to 116 last year he has 4 years averaging ~125. So, was last year a down year and he's underpriced and will come back, or have the pies started to slide, and he won't get back to 125?

Opening 5 games for Freo: Dogs, Suns, Eagles, North, Cats
Opening 5 games for pies: Swans, Tigers, Saints, Dees, Dons

I think Fyfe could explode in those 5 games whereas Pendles may be a bit more muted - I think harder teams for Freo will mean more potential impact for Fyfe, whereas the Saints and Dees play a shut down sort of game which could limit Pendles impact, and the Dons will be such a blowout that I think there will be lots of high scores without massive ones...

That's my logic at this point in time but Fyfe to Pendles is still very much under consideration for me...

If I had to drop one, I'd rather miss out on Pendles going ~120 than one of Fyfe/Danger exploding out of the blocks, so would drop Pendles

Exactly my thinking too GoLions. I think Pendles may play a little forward or back too to give the younger players like Adams, Treloar, DeGoey for more mid time. That's not to say Pendles won't play in the guts, he will, but will have to sacrifice other lines to get him in.

Is that going off nab cup? Because I don't see that as really indicative of the years roles for Collingwood. Jesse White played back etc... Nab cup is more about giving the young guys a go.
Sure pendles will play a bit all over the place it will be majority in the midfield. Swan and Sidebottom will be the main guys moving all over the field for us.
Top 8 Collingwood is a 125+ Pendlebury. Lock!

Personally go all 3 but don't currently. Have fyfe

Has nothing to do with NAB cup, and I have all 3 atm anyway. But if I was to drop one, I'd drop Pendles.

All depends who plays Round 1 for the pies. If all goes bad, my backup plan is to get either hanners or priddis

I'd drop Danger and go with Fyfe/Pendles. Just a tiny bit of uncertainty around Danger being at a new club

LOL, I think he meant to say Fyfe/Pendles

Not sure how there can still be uncertainty about Danger at a new club after what he has done in his first 3 matches?

Danger will be in the Fyfe/Ablett discussions come seasons end - that's my call

You mean in 3 NAB games that mean flower all when picking premos??
Same three games where there was no Jelwood, one of the better mids in the comp

Didn't say he can't average 120 again, just that there is a little bit of uncertainty. And you can't say there isn't. New club, new team mates, new structures, new ruckman (Jacobs > Smith), etc.

It will take a very very good year to back up what he did last year. And i hope he does because he's a good player, but i'll bring him in after i see it in Geelong colours

RaisyDaisy

NAB games mean flower all when picking premo's, but I have actually watched all of the Geelong games and he is just killing it

Out of these 3, Danger is the first one I would pick. Massive call I know, but that's just how high I personally rate him

Going to a new club means shower for players of this ilk. A gun is a gun no matter where he is.

I'm not saying he is going to push 120, but having watched him in all 3 games he looks incredible

It means everything. You can't say that all those factors i listed above don't affect him because he is a "gun" lol.

Even when Ablett went to GC his output dropped. While his SC only dropped 3, his DT dropped by 7 meaning his basic output dropped. Now GAJ is the greatest player of all time...

So a gun may be a gun no matter where his is, but your being naive if you think being at a new club means nothing

I've got Fyfe and Danger and have gone without Pendles.

The reasoning behind it is very much shared between the first two replies to this thread.

I just reckon that Fyfe/Danger have a bit more ability to go absolutely nuts the first few weeks and wanna be on when they do. That's not to say Pendles won't either, but I can't quite fit him in sticking with what I've got (Fyfe, Danger, Rocky, GAJ, Priddis, Ward, Libba).
