Yep Hawks will see the run and carry he provides. Will play tight on him and other running half backs.

That's the thing that worries me with JJ.. So many running half backs.. JJ Bob Boyd Biggs all playing very similar attacking roles. Surely Bob gets preference over those others when they need to defend.. Sounds stupid but there will come a time when the Dogs can't do as they please and they're playing so on top.

But the thing that makes him so tasty is the high possession style of footy the Dogs are playing. Very attractive and very easy to get +6's

Not sure what you mean here without any justification? I think we're playing a very sustainable game plan and have both the personell and depth to continue doing so. Why do you think there will "come a time when we can't do as we please"?

Also - JJ and Bob are our prime movers. Biggs and Boyd are more link players. JJ or Bob cop a tag, and at the moment you cant let Bob do as he pleases off HB. May change towards the mid stages of the season but its still always going to be a toss of a coin.

I'm considering Rocky to Hall, then use the cash to trade Lonergan to JJ. But it seems a bit reactionary. Is Lonergan going that badly to make this a good trade? He did score 93 first round. Thoughts?

because your not going roll over teams doubling their score every week.

You crushed a freo team who look shocking at the moment and then the saints who are a young list who wont make the 8.

Play some teams that will punish an attacking game style then we can see how they go. Or teams that have hard forward tags.

lets see if hawks let you just stream off the half back flank.

saying that he isnt a bad pick at 420k ill rather wait till i have more cash and pick up heath shaw when he drops to say 550k. I have other lines i can work on.

Parker at 110k more will crush JJ

I'm amazed people are considering trading longeran. I bought him in last week, admittedly to get the cash for BenK, and am very happy with his role, etc. Sure, he faded a little last week, but at his price/age that is expected. His score was also effected by some errors he won't do every week (50m clanger for stepping over the mark, 2 dubious frees against, one when he was the bottom man on a pack and got pinned HTB, another a tackle that was dubiously called in the back - this alone could easily have been a tackle, free for, contested possession, etc and a 10-12 point turn around for this one error). Rose coloured glasses on my part maybe, but I'm confident he will be a solid d5-7 with dpp this year.
I am planning on trading Barlow to JJ tho..

Agree with both wato and Holz. Need to see JJ score well when the team is challenged and then i'll consider bringing him in

Can't see us being challenged this year tbh. Maybe you can bring him in next year then, but he will cost you $700k. Ha!

Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines. I have both Barlow and Rocky, so could get Hall and JJ via DPP links. It means I would have to field Papley, Kerridge and Menadue, leaving my fwd line a bit weak.

See the post directly above yours for my other option. ::)

Any JJ owners concerned about the effect of Murphys injury? Surely Bob was the more dangerous rebounding defender so all the attention was given to him but with him out and given JJ's form he is now going to cop all the attention.

So far he's looking eerily similar to B. Smith of 2015. Came out with all guns blazing, then dropped off the face of the Earth. I don't have the guts to back him in when so many premium options will be a similar price within a  few weeks.

jvalles69

Unless you started with him there's no point bringing him in now, those people will reap the cash rewards, but until he does this more often he may not be a keeper so just wait and watch.

wasn't allowed to get his loose touches last week

I agree, didn't look like he did in the first 2 rounds against the Hawks, then again, murphy went down which will probably mean more points for him. Luckily for me I did start him, I have enough things to worry about atm.

I early traded him for Crouch last week. A bit disappointed with his score, but beat the price rise. It was a bit of a rage trade, I wasn't super confident about him. Then Bob went down, so another spanner thrown into the works. Oh well, fingers crossed! ???

Edit: I wanted Gibbo, but I was a grand short. Dodged a bullet there!
