Whats the go when the GC mids return?
Back to poor scoring?

Ringo

Lonergan will be replacing Swallow who would be at least 7/8 weeks away.  Enjoy the cash gain and then wait and see what happens when Swallow returns.

The same thing that would have happened anyway ... he was going to play midfield regardless.

"Lonergan has been the most improved player at the Suns in coach Rodney Eade’s first season and has become a key figure in their midfield.

It should come as little surprise given he was the 13th pick in the 2012 draft.

...

Eade decided early on in his tenure as Suns coach that Lonergan could join elite top 10 draft picks David Swallow and Dion Prestia and Rising Star winner Jaeger O’Meara in the Suns midfield if the club put more work into his development.

In the past three weeks he has played on Brownlow medallist Matt Priddis and All Australian pair Scott Thompson and Lions captain Tom Rockliff."

this is my small worry, he will play midfield but in what role.

he did play in the mid last year and didnt score that well as he was tagging.

Are people favouring him over Mackenzie? Seen a few running with him or Sheridan too.
Out of those 3 who's the best?

Lonergan imo

Mckenzie fighting with Nmal and KK for possessions and Sheridan I'm not convinced on his role

That's a cause for comfort, not concern. He did his apprenticeship following the guns of the game last year.

It's not a trial to see how he goes due to injuried (A.Hall) ... it's the current standard for developement.

As for role? Aside from Swallows role while he's out ? You have 8 weeks to judge whether he's going to do as D6 or cash in the overs and use him as a stepping stone.

Prestia will play this week. Does this affect Lonergan?

Only Swallow will affect Lonergan when he comes back,  if we accept the coaches words at face value.

Hmm where does Hall fit into that pecking order?

pendles93

Ablett isnt going to play 80% mid. I reckon itll be close to 50/50 even which means more opportunity in the midfield. Lonergan, hall, prestia, miller, rischitelli will all get a run till JOM and Swallow are back.

Ringo

No Lonergan is the replacement for Swallow in that team.

Lonergan v Seedsman seems to be a real discussion point.
