Im aware that there is a thread regarding defensive talk but this 'D3' position is becoming extremly annoying.

Im unsure wheather to have a bartel in there making it a 3 premo line or to go with 2 premos and 2 mid pricers along with the rookies

So just want to know whos everyones D3?

Mines currently bartel but is changing daily

Insert D3 here __________, haha.  I couldn't tell you who mine is as it changes multiple times per day, I will revisit after the final round of NAB when I should have a clear cut idea, but I think it's a mid pricer at this stage and prob will be by next week.

If you don't have Bartel then get him. Have a look at his scoring history. At under 500k he's a lock.

He might miss a couple but barring injury he will play most of them.

Have a look at Enright over the last couple of years.

Missing ~2 games though could be a pretty big deal. All it takes is for your emergency to put up a score under 50, and that 95ish avg Bartel is providing all of a sudden becomes 90, and those guys who should avg 90-95 all of a sudden become a lot more valuable. I still have Bartel, but if he misses more than 2 games, not starting him will have been the better move.

My D3 is... Bartel!

The way I'm structured up, it's the dreaded D2.

I have Shaw and Bartel flanking D2. Currently have Houli squeezed in there, but thinking seriously about Rance. Neither of which fill me with confidence btw. I have Lonergan at D4, and then the Rookies. I absolutely do not want to go into the season with 4 premiums to fetch into my defence. Houli and Rance are a reaction to queries over McVeigh and Boyd playing a full season, and the legitimacy of the other 500K+ defenders, along with KK. I want to nail down 3 defenders who will finish top 6. Frankly, the only reason I have Bartel is because everyone has him, and I don't have the cash for a Shaw, Rance, Houli set-up. My objective is as simple as it seems impossible: three premiums to bring in a combined 300 points across 22 weeks. It doesn't matter if Houli scores 60 one GW, if the other 2 can compensate. My rationale for going with Bartel is that if he fails, most of the top 5K in the comp will fail. So it won't really hurt. I'd much prefer Rance, or at a lesser price KK, but feel the need to be conservative here and go with the flow.

The only mistake imo is 2 premos + 2 mid-pricers. The correct play is 3 premos + 1 mid-pricer, the question being, which two premos above 500K (incl. KK). Don't like the Yeos, Hurns, Smiths one bit. They're going to end up costing an upgrade trade down the line to finish in the top 1K.
