If he plays he's in. He might cost you a trade if he gets injured and goes out but he'll cost you more if you leave him out and he goes bang.

I got on him straight away when he came back last year and threw the C on him straight away.  Yeah, he got injured but he was scoring big while he was out there. If it's a serious injury they'd be dumb to play him.  If it's a niggle, it won't stop him dominating.

GC needs to peform they havent done anything and pressure is mounting with GWS pushing hard for finals. They cant rely on swallow or JOM I feel they will do something foolish and a niggle can become another injury.

21 games in 2 years with no preseason games due to niggling injuries, 32 years old playing in a depleted side which will struggle. If it wasnt Ablett you wouldnt even look.

This is very true Holz and I have to admit I have nagging doubts, but at the same time he's the only player who has somewhat earned that status of "don't think about it, just pick him"

Maybe not but it's flowering huge if you've got a seriously debilitating foot injury, ergo it can't be that bad.

True but it is Ablett.  He's no ordinary player.  The guy is so far ahead of the pack that preseason games and the like aren't needed for him to find form. It's just a matter of if he can step out there and play.  Picking him Vs a Bombers team that won't beat anyone is the perfect indicator of where he's at for me.

Yeah, my idea as well. He would be struggling to run 1km let alone 5. I was also thinking plantar fasciitis initially, I've never heard of tibialis posterior tendinopathy so no idea. I'd rather start him this year even though I didn't last year.

Safety in numbers.

Majority of coaches will have him in their team, if he's no good then it will cost you a trade just like everyone else. If he fires and you don't have him caaaaaatch ya later. It's too risky not to have him due to his popularity.

If it is tibialis posterior tendinopathy - jump off

Stop showing off Doc  :P

Only know about it because my daughter had it and she is much tougher than GAJ - was out for ages.

G'day Doc,   will you start him if he lines up Rd.1  ??              :-\

Of course.

Just like last year and look how that turned out...twice...

(Twice referring to the start of the season and then again when he returned)
