G Ablett will go in cold Round 1 v Ess .. Won't be risked this week in NAB and no praccy game ..

Hmmm, will probably still start him if true but some doubt now.

That's frustrating. I understand he's a freak but surely giving him a run wouldn't hurt

Yeah an intra club game wouldn't kill him surely, not like Viney plays for the Suns  ;D

Well no GAJ in NAB 3 hmm...

At his price he's a lock. Absolute worst case scenario is it costs me one trade and I can sideways him to anyone.

More than happy for people to jump off :)

Totally agree, and of course if ever there was a player worth risking  a trade on it would have to be Gazza         ;)

Either way the people that do and those that don't some will save a trade I'm in the wait and see corner for now

I'd say worst case he plays round 1 and then that foot niggle pops up again. Needs to rest a week but he'll definitely be right for round 3.

Oh wait he'll need juuust one more week. 100% round 4.

Oh wait...

worse case scenario is he is underdone plays 1-2 games knocks up two 100s then gets injured round 3 early on and falls to 550k after averaging 70 over the first rounds.

then there isnt any premo in the 550k you want and your stuck with an underpeforming player or you use two trades and bring in a premo.

Im still going him but his worse case is more then hey just a trade.

going another premo could be 150+ a trade + 100k/100-150 points from then on.

It's last year all over again. And I will be picking him just like I did last year. Let's just hope it doesn't turn out like it did last year...

If GAJ is worth a trade out ... then why not a trade in?

A trade is a trade no matter which direction it goes.

The 5 premo mid is looking popular atm, so why not leave GAJ out with some coin in the bank and see what happens in the 1st 2 weeks?

Personally I'm not expecting him to go BANG out the gates.

You can take a punt on Wines/Parker/Sloane and hold the spare cash to start ... and if GAJ looks good and the punts look a bit flat ... make the trade.

One of our Super prems might fall over by round 3 also ... paving the way for GAJ.

The major downside to this strat is GAJ taking up the spot of a rookie correction trade.

Food for thought ...

He comes with risk, but for me it's worth it. Should be able to easily trade him to Parker, Sloane, Jelly etc

Depends on if you're leaning towards a negative or positive outcome for Ablett.

Regardless, if you've picked Wines/Parker/Sloane you'd be foolish to trade out after 2 weeks. If you don't start Ablett you're not getting him in til later.
