At his price he's a lock. Absolute worst case scenario is it costs me one trade and I can sideways him to anyone.

More than happy for people to jump off :)

worse case scenario is he is underdone plays 1-2 games knocks up two 100s then gets injured round 3 early on and falls to 550k after averaging 70 over the first rounds.

then there isnt any premo in the 550k you want and your stuck with an underpeforming player or you use two trades and bring in a premo.

Im still going him but his worse case is more then hey just a trade.

going another premo could be 150+ a trade + 100k/100-150 points from then on.

He comes with risk, but for me it's worth it. Should be able to easily trade him to Parker, Sloane, Jelly etc

Or one of the big guns you don't have the cash to start, in my case Danger.

EDIT: I can afford Danger but have to remove a POD mid to bring him in. Which I will. Pendles I am not starting so I could go Gaz to Pendles if need be.

Trading GAJ to Parker also gives me the chance to upgrade a fwd as well

Would rather they just said he was gonna miss the first month than have to worry about this niggling shower again

I'm not making the same mistakes I did last year. I'll trade GAJ in on the bubble if he looks like his old self, or on the bottom if he takes a dive and finds form. Right now this is looking more and more likely to be a repeat of last year so I'll take the option which sees me less likely to lose a trade.

Best case scenario for me is that GAJ starts the season underdone and drops $100k by round 3.

Possibly Crowley tag in Round 1 too.

Who do you plan on trading for Ablett though?

One of Sidebottom, Shiel, Sloane or Selwood, whichever one replaces Ablett in my team. Or perhaps another premium midfielder although I'd prefer to find another one with a surname starting with S just to keep this trend going.

Surely you wouldnt trade one of those guys out? Seems a waste

I'd rather have a vintage Ablett over any one of them, so yes. I have sidebottom in my team now over ablett, but will revert back to Ablett if he shows good form.

Either I start Ablett and risk trading to Sidebottom or I start Sidebottom and risk trading to Ablett. I'm just taking the route I think is least likely to cost me a trade.

What if sidebottom and your other mids are scoring 100+ in first few weeks, but the little master is back with a bang and is averaging 130+... How will u get him in? Surely you can't trade out a premo scoring 100? It's a dangerous corner to back yourself into without a clear plan for getting him in

I have the cash in reserve to trade to ablett if need be. Plan to get him in is as simple as clicking a button.

How could you even question starting the greatest player of all time.

And I'll probably start Ablett as well.

I don't mean to sound rude, but there's literally a Rocky Ablett thread a few below this  :)
