it was expected the 22-year-old would be fit to face the Suns.

Teammate Brodie Smith admitted on Wednesday that he wasn't sure if Crouch would make it.

"He trained on his own today â€" we had a bit of a lighter session and he's at the stage where he needed a bit more in the legs for next week," Smith said.

"We're taking a really cautious approach with him because obviously he's had a few issues.

"He's trying to get right for next week, but whether that happens or not we're not sure, so we'll wait and see."

Whilst Crouch's return to competitive football appears precariously placed, Smith denied he or any of the Crows felt nervous for the midfielder.

He needs to play NAB 3 or I won't be picking him

timtim

No for me at this stage. Could use the extra $$ elsewhere

I reckon I am going to finally give in and get rid of him

He comes in and slays his first 2 matches then I will find the funds to bring him in

I already have 6 prem mids with Crouch at 7, so I think I will downgrade him to a rookie and upgrade elsewhere

6 premo mids?! I assume you're counting Libba as the 6th??

Southstorm

Start Matt and trade down to Brad if the older one kills it perhaps.

Bully

Think I will hold, may only be 1 week missing in which case he becomes a POD.

Keeping the faith, he'll play NAB 3.  :-\

Haven't had him in a single team iv'e made. I don't doubt the kids ability he just has to get his body right and string together some games before I would even consider picking him. He will be in and out all season and I'm not taking that risk.

Smith: "The Rd 1 team is going to be tough to pick. Brad Crouch trained well today so he'll be in the mix as well as the guys already there"
