It's pre season and he is being managed. I'm waiting for Nab 3... Then r1...still locked in atm.
He's too cheap and good to leave out.
This ^

It was general soreness from his first game in ages, its to be expected

That's the clubs explanation Rico but I don't know if takes this long to get over general soreness ? ::) but I'm a patient man lets see if he plays most of game three

RaisyDaisy

Still locked in my side - not really concerned about him missing out on a NAB match

As long as you have a contingency plan in place it's fine. If he doesn't look good before rd1 then I will downgrade to a rookie and bring in a defender or forward

RaisyDaisy

I'd probably be worried if they were playing in Adelaide - but as they are flying off to Perth I'm not worried yet

This is old news but relevant news  .......

ADELAIDE will adopt a "risk-free" policy with Brad Crouch during the NAB Challenge after the luckless midfielder pulled up with general soreness from his starring role in Friday's intraclub match, coach Don Pyke says.

"At this stage we don't want to take any risks with Brad. He's not sore in the foot, which is a good thing, it's just general soreness in terms of returning to play," Pyke told radio station 5AA.

"We'll see how he comes and we'll take a risk-free policy with him, because he was in good form last Friday and I think he's going to be a good player for us this year.

"(Soreness is) to be expected - he hasn't played for the best part of almost a year.

"He's a strong, fierce competitor and maybe he just went a bit overs on Friday. So we need to sometimes pull him back a little bit to protect him from himself at times."

I don't actually have him in my Supercoach team at the moment but i do have him in my Dreamteam, way too cheap to ignore if named round 1.

LordSneeze

Keeping a very close eye on him. But I just cant bring myself to not pick him if he plays NAB 3 and is named in R1.

He is a risk but a risk i think i will take, like you say if he plays well in Nab 3 and named round 1.

Grufflez

Nahhhh why worry, Locked & Loaded since day 1 asif he doesn't play a 20 game season and average 105-110 this year.

fanTCfool

Been slowly working him out of my side, but am prepared to bring him back in at any moment.
If he misses the first Round or Two, it wouldn't be a bad thing at all really, can pick him up going in to Round 4/5.

crowls

Not concerned atm.   If it turns out he has to come out I will be downgrade him to a rookie. Was my m7 so a rook can be m7.

sammy123

surely they would want some match time into him

jvalles69

What you don't want is 2nd-3rd weekly "general soreness" during the real season.

Well he's not injured as far as I know, they're a professional AFL club and I would think they know what they're doing.

Nab 3 and an intra club game before round 1 would be enough for a player of his skill surely ?

So that means you have to rule out all players that are returning from injury this year, its a possibility for all of them.

as has been said Brad has had this problem off and on for 2 or 3 years so not the same as a Libba who just had one serious injury

Football Factory

All very good points people are making, definitely not saying you should start with him, if you didn't want to take the risk I don't think anyone would argue with you  :)

How'd you come to that conclusion?  Crouch has missed games consistently for his entire career and he's meant to be fully fit yet still has to miss games.  Guys coming off 1 single serious injury are usually good to go due to all the rehab they have to get on the track.  Brad seems a bit reckless from what the coaches are saying and pushes himself into these scenarios.
