DEF: Lonergan, Sheridan (both 90+)
MID: Viney (110+)
RUC: Gawn (115+)
FWD: Hall (95+)

I take it u picking a goldy Gawn or Nic Nat goldy for rucks ? ... I just switched back to goldy Nic nat

The lonergan v Sheridan choice seems tricky at this point ... And that's if u are considering them

Yep Goldy & Gawn for me at the moment and have both Sheridan and Lonergan at D4 and D5 due to the complete lack of DEF rookies with decent scoring potential.

I like this play at d4d5 ... D3?

Laird, Bartel, Birchall, Sheridan, Lonergan, 3 rookies is my current setup.

Being a tad bit ambitious on those scores mate.
Lonergan & Sheridan 85ish
Viney 105 Max
Gawn 110 max
Hall 90ish

I really like it ... Except I just have a bad feeling I can't explain about Bartel flopping - can't base it on anything at all

Though the thurlow injury somehow makes me slightly more confident in him

OK. Priced @ 70 with a career avg of 71.
The last 5 years he has avg 76 points off 18 touches with 65% DE.
Will any of that improve enough for him to be a good enough stepping stone or a keeper. Doubt it.
Come seasons end he'll end up where I reckon he'll always stay. Mediocre and not SC relevant

Thank you, nice reply

I actually think he is a good player - everyone develops differently, time will tell

A bit of confidence, good coaching, good team mates around him and along with the general growth the club is experiencing on and off the field - I think some people will be surprised...soon...ish....maybe

The bloke has had to endure a horror start to his career - Im pretty sure it would affect most young peoples output if your club has endured what the Demons have

I think he will improve output this year and would be a good stepping stone

I have him on my watch list - I don't have the plums to pick him round 1 though

he's been in the system for 7 years already, how much more time does he need to prove he'll never reach the heights that fans expected of him in his early years before they'll accept that he'll probably finish as an avg player.

i can say the same things about the young guys at my club (Blues), been absolutely dismal (even though i'll always talk up our finals chances every year  ;) ), seriously it absolutely breaks my heart but you know what you can actually see some fire in some of the young kids eyes.
can you really say the same about Jack??

and that is your opinion, each to their own, i've made some bold claims too, we'll just have to wait and see how the season goes to see if what we say actually unfold.

There is no way Carlton has gone through half of what Melbourne has been dealt during Jack Watts playing career timeframe

Im not speaking just about the clubs on field performance or having a few different coaches...Im not a Demons fan either, you need to take your Blue coloured glasses off

Confidence and a good team around you makes a massive difference to a young players output IMO

agreed, though a good young player will push through that.

anyways onto other breakout contenders, De Goey is one i'll definitely be keeping my on.
