could he warrant a d3 position? want to go fairly cheap in the defence?

Lonergan semi-locked in if he's fit for r1, have been eyeing him for a while since his r1 debut 3 years ago...showed a lot of potential

Lonergan's always been at the back of my mind as a selection but he's under serious consideration in light of the recent news.

And I'm now officially all over De Goey like a fat kid on a cupcake.

De Goey and Lonergan are the two I picked to break out, but at this stage I dont have either

I reckon they can both push 90+ and that's probably why I don't have them currently because if I'm picking 300k+ guys I really want to pick them with the hope of them becoming keepers, and I'm not sure these two could be - especially De Goey due to being mid/fwd

90+ is good enough for Lonergan as a defender, but my structure doesn't fit him although that could change

Left field selections I don't have the plums to pick but will cry in my cornflakes if they do breakout

Daw
Wines
Viney
LShiels
JAnderson
AHall
WhiteX
Gus Litherland

Cogs
DSmith
DRich
LMcDonald
Terlich (randomly in my team - if not picked round 1 will be replaced)
DShiel
MRobbo

I expect there to be a bit of a changing of the guard at Hawthorn this year with some younger blokes given more opportunity
Players like KHatherley, TObrien (who wasn't even able to be selected in SC last year??), DHowe, JORouke with Liam Shiels not to be assigned any more tagging roles

Big Mac

Fair to say you can probably take Terlich out now  :P

Surely a 90+ Fwd/mid is good enough for F6/F7 After all only 20 forwards exceeded 90 last year and I think De Goey can go 95 and maybe a keeper. He is currently my F3.  If he does not keep it up is a stepping stone.

Seriously looking at Lonergan with Swallow and O'Meara probably not playing till Rd 7. Should just about be maxed out by then to upgrade as I doubt he will stay in team when these stars return. May surprise though with others missing out.

Jack Billings.
Whats everyone's thoughts on him?
Was ideally waiting to see how he went in the nab against the lions but with the game being cancelled i didnt get to see him. Scored 56 in a half in the first nab game before being rested the second half. I think he can avg 95+ and replicate the bont from last year if he can stay injury free.
Opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

De Goey is a very similar type to Luke Parker, they play the same type of game and will probably track in a similar manner. Parker's first few years were 52, 70, 85. Even if De Goey benefits from more midfield time I can't see him eclipsing Parker's 3rd year, something which would be a monumental achievement in itself. At u/18 level De Goey was never a huge possession gatherer either, can't see him radically transforming overnight.

Too awkwardly priced, I think it's better to wait for some runs on the board before taking the plunge.

Can I ask what's your logic in getting to that? Seems a bit of a leap to me, averaged 68 unsubbed last year and only went over 95 once, hard for me to see him coming out and averaging 95 for the season... Even if he is being talked up as getting more mid time, he got 95 in one NAB hit out without Pendles in the mix... I reckon ~80 will be closer to the mark.

DEF: Lonergan, Sheridan (both 90+)
MID: Viney (110+)
RUC: Gawn (115+)
FWD: Hall (95+)

I take it u picking a goldy Gawn or Nic Nat goldy for rucks ? ... I just switched back to goldy Nic nat

The lonergan v Sheridan choice seems tricky at this point ... And that's if u are considering them

Yep Goldy & Gawn for me at the moment and have both Sheridan and Lonergan at D4 and D5 due to the complete lack of DEF rookies with decent scoring potential.

I like this play at d4d5 ... D3?

RaisyDaisy

Haven't got either at the moment. I reckon guys like Dea and possibly WhiteX along with 3-4 cheap rookies should work

Not sure who I'd pick out of these two, so decided to avoid both. GnR for now
