i had him last year and was very frustrating to have. what is the BIG atraction with having him as 1st Def? ive seen him in heaps of teams.

Gigantor

Consistency, his record over the last 10 years is so consistent its almost boring :)

Mat0369

While he might be a roller coaster he should be a top 10 defender and good for a 90-95 average. He's also been fairly durable throughout his career, he was on a massive streak of consecutive games played before Wellingham broke his jaw and last year was the first time he had missed a game due to a soft tissue injury. It's a consistency factor.

wceagles

with the lack of options, hes one of the defenders in which you know what your going to get come seasons end

Had him last year and this. And i did crap. just no. Doesn't do it often enough and is almost a premo price. Shaw is worth every cent, he's the only set and forget defender in the game now.

65
71, 72, 74, 76, 78
88, 89
90, 92, 95, 95, 97, 98, 98
100, 103, 109, 112, 149

Nuts to think he was terrible last year. I'd take anything above 75 for a defender at D3 (where I think he'll end up) I reckon and he did that 16/20 times last year. 14 over 88 is awesome.

Reason for picking him though, is he's only missed 5 games out of the last 220, has only dropped below a season average of 90 twice in that time (85 and 88), and has averaged over 94, 6/10 years

Unheard of

see my note on eos target points by position and it is clear why simmo gets a start in my team.
not many reliable back options

With Malthouse gone I think a few of those Carlton boys will respond positively to the new coach.

quinny88

Safe as they come for a 90+ average. Can't say that about many defenders. Locked

The backline version of Pendles? Scoring wise

Holz

94 94 95 96 93

you can almost set your watch to him.

7 of his last 10 seasons has played 22 games

5 games missed in 10 years ill take that.

AaronKirk

Only 5.47% ownership as well according to SC Gold.

I couldn't believe that it is so low.

And the games he missed weren't even his fault, if I remember correctly, a Collingwood player (Sidebum? No, doesn't sound right) whacked him right in the jaw and missed a few weeks suspended.
