Apparently Macpherson for the suns and Mathieson for the lions were the pick of the rookies.

Can someone who watched the game please give a brief summation of the rookies from the game?

Ringo

For information these players were missing from Brisbanes side today and would be in our best 22.

Out today: Rocky, Beams, Rich, Hanley, Zorko, Christensen, Stef, Basti, Merrett, Andrews, Green, McStay,

Close Gardiner and West also missing who would be on the fringes as well.

Macpherson played as a half forward and pushed up the ground. He was pretty lively laying tackles and pressuring while also getting a bit of the ball. Ah Chee did some good stuff, he didn't get a lot of the ball but showed some flashes. Garlett had a couple of chases which were great, but same boat as Ah Chee. Currie was a big body but Nicholls out performed him. I don't take much away from the ruck contests today because it was Archie Smith or bust and Smith doesn't look anywhere near AFL ready.

Jansen had a couple of efforts early which were noted but he wasn't really sighted the rest of the day. Mathieson had a really good first quarter and managed to snap a tight set shot with a banana. As I said earlier he looks to have the Selwood drop going and got a few high contact free kicks. The key talls in Hipwood and Schache had tough days, Hipwood got one goal at least, I think it was a free from memory and was pretty close to goal. Keays was floating around and got a few touches, I didn't think he had any really terrible disposals from memory.

Who cares if Harwood butchers the ball, as long as he gets lots of possessions its all good for the fantasy team  ;D

Because DE counts in SC and if he can't kick he will probably get dropped.

His DE can't have been that bad if he scored 95 SC and only 60 something DT

It wasn't great. He went at 63% on the day. Im surprised he scored so much off only 11 touches. He did take a couple intercept marks but still surprising

Yeah I didn't even see the game, just the SC scores. That's bizarre then that he scored that off like 7 effective disposals?  :o

wouldnt take too much notice of it

soo many players got silly SC scores. in the nab you only look at thier DT.

66 from him is promising.

he got 5 marks and 5 tackles. 9 kicks to 2 handballs is fantastic.

when he averaged 83 his DT average was 72.5 . it wasnt a 95 game but it was a solid 80+ game in my books.

Ringo

For those considering MacPherson just remember he is still on the Suns rookie list and will need elevating.

Does anyone know sources of TOG stats other than the AFL site? It's showing 100% for every player
