Yeah I'm still suffering from a burn from Birchall so not convinced in the slightest and Simpson really didn't do much for me either.
Need to judge it more once they are full strength or as close as possible

Jones made it pretty easy for Birch tonight.

I assume birch was playing in the backline then? Had heard he'd spent some time training with the mids

Mainly in defense but he did play a bit off the wing and had a small midfield stint.

Basically Jones put no pressure on him and he just read the play really well as he always has done.

One game of nab cup and everyone is locking in players lol. Come round 1 Birchall will be tagged with a negative forward flanker. May as well lock in nick graham and Howe based on the game rofl. You start Birchall, expect an average around 85-90. Some highs some lows.
I was already solid on both and it was more just seeing the roles tonight. I would have preferred he scored 40. TBH.

To make Birch's 139 SC look even better it was from only 69% TOG

I know it is only 1 NAB warmup but he was impressive.

I'm thinking of going to Tassie when we play the Hawks later in the season after I saw these two places in the pre-game coverage

Pity it will be f'ing freezing

Ahhhh, the world famous Wine glass bay & Cradle mountain, outstandingly beautiful !

Last time I saw Cradle Mountain it was covered in snow! Definitely recommend the Tasse trip, great fun.

The old knee jerk reactions.

An interesting stat from last night and you can read into it whatever you like:

Carlton interchange: 79
Hawthorn Interchange: 135

Sill have unrestricted Interchange for the NAB cup.  Carlton maybe using it to strategise for the real comp whereas Hawthorn just went about NAB as usual.

Unlimited interchanges for rounds 1 & 2 of the NAB Challenge then round 3 is capped at 90 I believe mate.

It probably explains why we also ran out of legs in the 2nd half. Good strategy by Bolton.

Not live, you can get some updates at each break off twitter if you follow Fantasy Freako.

The final scores are posted on the Herald Sun site about an hour after the match. I have a subscription so but I'm not sure if its required or not to view the atricle
