Think he's still a risk, but I agree that he is going to have a bit of a purple patch starting this week.

got to admit im mighty tempted to pick him up over Dmart. What i think is the smarter move is wait a week if he goes 100+ thats 3 straight 100s and at 420k its potentailly a very good pick up.

A smarter move would've been picking up Aaron Hall :) He got 3 straight 120s (with 3 other 90+ scores to go with it) and at 420k he has been a very good pick up ;D

Westhoff? I wouldn't touch him, his 2 scores in the 20s were uninjured :o

Like Hoff can compete with Zorko, Dahl, Montags, Martin, Hall, Deledio etc. anyway ::)

Start picking real premiums plz Holz 8)

umm Hoff has gone 98 91 95 the last few years thats a good pedigree for someone priced at 405k.

if he comes within 10 of say Zorko its a good pick up for 150k less. that 150k can make lots of points up elsewhere.

im personally not going him but if strapped for cash and need to go a POD to make some cash up its a decent punt.

Im personally going Dmart for Safety.

that 150k can turn kerrdige into Dmart. Its all about team strucutre

Dmart Hoff v Kerrdige Zorko.

not as clear cut anymore.

im not going to take much into the hall hype up, personally i dont really want to see a 3 round average of 90 76 95 from my premos. I said trade him out 2 weeks ago to a guy like Buddy or Dmart

as it stands

76 95 = 171
106 116 = 222

thats 51 points and counting and $30,000 for Buddy
or 71 points and counting and $20,000 for Dmart

feeling my advice is pretty solid at this stage.

In all seriousness your SC knowledge is pretty good Holz and you are a great super coach IMO.

I just think you got the not starting with Hall decision wrong but nothing wrong with that as we can't nail all our starting selections.

You saying that he wasn't a good selection though makes you look a bit bitter though IMO.

The only part of your advice that falls apart is trading him out of your team...rules are you don't trade out a possible keeper as it's a massive waste of a trade for a few points overall.  I'm trusting Hall to come back at some point and put up solid numbers.  Buddy always has a dud patch every year.  I understand passing on Hall (as you've done, and stuck to that), but for people who started him, your advice of trading him out is terrible advice.  ;)

he was a good slection.

what I hoped i did was pick him up, watch his price explode then trade him out after the north game for $520k after he was on 56 at 3/4 time.  118 average and 100k made thats a great pickup.

reason i didnt go him was i didnt want to use a trade to get him out and not convinced he is a good long term pick.

Hoff is abit more proven but port have looked bad, however they are coming good. If i was desperate for cash then i would look at him or gunston with the edge to gunston. People might not be able to afford gunston and with Wells probably out and other guys out including adams it could be a great move to bring in the Hoff. you cant be too harsh on a guy with 3 straight 90+ seasons.

you cant get the best in every line so its whether you cut cornes in the fwd with Gunny Hoff or mid with Pridda Gray etc.

I still think yoi can make 200+ points and 30k which makes it potentially worth it. But yeah ita a out their call which i dont expect any to go wirh. I do think there is a greater then 50% chance people will look back and go hey not a crazy call after all.

Hall has gone 129, 124, 134, 114, 90, 76 & 95 this season priced at 428k.

The extra 170k saved over starting Montagna has made up lots of points elsewhere ;D

Hall, Gawn vs Montagna, Lobbe

Pretty clear cut now isn't it? 8)

feeling like picking Hall has been pretty solid at this stage.

You can't know though.  Worth it if you're sitting pretty with a full team and trades left in the last round knowing you could've moved Hall out for someone who goes on to average more (if Hall does continue to drop) or not worth it if you burn the trade now to bring in Dusty for Hall and then your team is shower out of luck/trades in round 17 you opening the next krispy kreme franchise.  If you had a bucket load of trades still at this point cos you picked a perfect starting squad then it could be a very savvy move to move Hall on within the last few weeks, but the way the season has gone I don't think anyone has even had the opportunity to think about booting Hall.  I know I haven't even glanced at his position on my field, he's set unless he gets injured.

In all honesty, not sure why it's been discussed so much, Holz is happy not having Hall, the rest of us are content having Hall.  We're all happy!  ;D

As for Hoff, no. Won't be top 6-8 so who cares how cheap. Points trump dollars

Not gonna lie, I've thought about Hoff in some daily/weekly comps too.

At least we agree on NBA, haha.
