Westhoff could be one of those guys you start with hoping for some massive scores then trade out once that massive score has passed/at full value...

A move to be known as "The Deledio enabler"

No to Hoff. No to Buddy. Time for a Tex thread so I can say no to Tex.
I'll jump on them when they hit form and score 150+ ;)
Then you've missed one of their big scores though. You either start with them, or jump on when they've bottomed out. Wouldn't get them when they peak in price.

Top 6 fwd? Please he'll be top 5 overall scorer in the comp. will do a Blocavs but better and more goals. Starting him, putting the big C on him for Round 1, bring it on I'm happy to be disappointed but I have my faith!

Now you need to delete this thread before we convince people to pick him :)

Gotcha. ;D
I won't have any of them full stop.

Right now he is in my team.

Is he worth the price? It is questionable, but the draw they have is very enticing and he should roam around the ground if Dixon is fit and can play more than a few games.

Could make a quick 100k and then downgrade him to a more solid option.

Like Buddy I don't think he is a keeper if you start him.

wow thats huge. if you are paying for hoff buddy they need to be keepers or dont bother. Im getting both as keepers.

They will both have patches in the year which they will have 5-6 weeks of sub 85 averages.  It is about timing as to when you have them in your side.

Hoff with the good draw could easily go 110 for the first 8 weeks then 80 for the rest of the season.

Even with the good draw buddy generally starts slowly and works his way into the season.

There is a massive risk taking KPP forwards from round 1 and expecting them to be consistent though out the season. I don't see it happening.

As I said Hoff is in my side at the moment but come round one I will probably find a way of replacing him with Lids.

I have not considered buddy at all so far this pre season.

Good luck predicting the highs and lows.

You are just as likeky to miss a 150

Its wasting trades too.

If you start buddy hoff you keep unless injury or poor form

I cant see anyone sering hoff go 100+ in the first 8 then thinking yeah i need to get rid of him.

Its more he goes 80 people get annoyed get rid of himthenge goes 100

If i get him it eill be for his season average of 90

Been watching this debate with interest as I have the Hoff in my starting team at the moment and will be a keeper.  Even though he has a wide deviation he has averaged over 90 for the past 2 seasons and you would take that from your F5/6 any day of the year.

The other thing to consider he has only missed 5 games over the last 5 seasons so very durable as well when comparing with other forwards who will probably miss games.  With my luck probably jinxed him now  ;)

Alright. Heavily considering now.

As well as his durability, his overall points scored at the end of the year being top 6, and the fact that Port has a soft as draw, Ryder is out all year and the addition of Dixon, means this man can have some freedom and this man could pull some monster scores. Last year, he only had 4 scores below 78, so was quite consistent. He had 9/22 tons, and 15/22 above 85. He averaged 104.5 after Round 8. Tick, tick, tick for me. Will also be a POD. Could never see myself picking this man, but he is in my draft team and is quite a reasonable player. Any reason not to pick him up?

Only question I have is, what bloody position does he play?

Yes there is a reason. Because he's meant to be a less than 1% POD >:(

As I said above, he'll be a Blicavs but substitute some of those hitouts for goals. He's played as the 2nd tall all this time at Port (Ryder and Lobbe didn't play together enough last year sto say Ryder was a 2nd fwd). This year he's 3rd behind Schulz and Dixon. Last year I said he'd average 140 because of Ryder (bit ambitious), but to be fair Ryder didn't play forward and pinch hit ruck like I expected. Dixon is a forward first and a ruck second, Westhoff will go bananas this year.

For a solid 2 seconds there I was thinking I missed something huge, even started to get my hopes up.

quinny88

You guys are off your heads haha. he's not even cheap. Will average 90s again

Grufflez

And when Dixon goes down.....lol what then huh?
''coach'' Oi hoff stop roaming and get your ass down forward to help out Schultzy!

eaglesman

He is currently in my side

But the more he gets talked about and selected the less likely I will be picking t him

I am not gambling on a player who should be a POD
