Just interested to see how many people here play football, particulary in VIC.

might be a few teamates on here that didnt know they played for the same team.

I play for South Melbourne Districts in VAFA division 3.

might be going to Old Geelong though in division 1 as closer to me house.

I play for St Peters in the South Metro Junior Footy League in Victoria, formally the MSJFL

tackled someone in a match simulation, his weight bearing knee slammed into the side and front of my weight bearing knee as I took him to the ground. He's a pretty big bloke and was moving pretty quickly- just a freak accident, unless there was something seriously wrong with my form :/

still battling back from it :(

lol me too, I played for the Warriors in Ararat, our full forward got drafted by Footscray .. Rod Harvey.. he used to kick 10-15 goals a game :o  no wonder he was drafted from such a small league.

Thought I would google him see if I could find anything, and to my surprise there was. Didn't realise Astbury played for the Warriors.

Richmond defenders Scott Turner and David Astbury both started their footballing careers with Warriors in the under-13 competition.

Turner won a league best and fairest in both the under-13 (1983) and under-16 ('86) competition. The 144-game Tiger also captained the under-13 team in '82.

Astbury captained the team and won a club Best and Fairest in the same year ('04) and was coached by Greg Dadswell, who is Warriors' longest serving under-13 coach with eight seasons under his belt ('98-05).

Rodney Harvey is one of the most successful footballers in Warriors history. After winning three under-13 B and F awards ('84-86), Harvey went on to claim the club's under-16 top prize twice in '88-89. He was drafted to Footscray in 1990 National Draft but didn't play a game with the club.

EDIT: He actually got drafted the year after, played for Trinity the year before he got drafted, pick 60 in 1990 draft, the same year as James Hird  :-X  Hird was pick 79  :o

Cookie Monster

Played for Berwick for a few seasons, went 4 from 4 last season, one of the best years of my life!

Although injuries have taken their toll. Played 50% of my last season and just couldn't get back into the team, injury again haunted me this pre-season so i've decided to hang up the boots!

Along with working casual and going to uni 2 hours away it was the right call!

Playing footy in the Adelaide Hills this year

I hung up the boots after 2 knee reconstructions on the same knee a few years ago. Did the second while in rehab training with coaches away from the main group.  :-\ Figured I'd rather walk later on in life haha. Played in the South West Football League in WA.

i'm too old, even for vets (crash and bash injury/soreness-wise) so I've had to move onto 'daddy Auskick' which is what I tell my son is AFL9s is ...   :(    ;)

haha.

yeah, I've had two knee operations too. This season is my last crack at sport- one more serious injury and I'm giving the flower up- since 2007 I've only been injury free enough to play social sport for a total of 9 months :P
