Are we under estimating the impact of the interchange cap reduction?

So this has got me thinking - http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-09-03/sub-rule-abolished-interchange-cap-reduced

120 to 90 rotations a match... a 25% drop... 25% less time on the bench per player... massive.

Average rotations p.game

2008 - 80.3
2009 - 91.9
2010 - 117.4
2011 - ? (sub)
2012 - ? (sub)
2013 - ? (sub)
2014 - 107.9 (120 cap + sub)
2015 - 107.6 (120 cap + sub)

Am I over (or under) estimating the impact of this on the flow of the game?

Still only 3300 points up for grabs, so i expect the impact will be pretty even across the board

Some slight increase and decreases but I don't think it plays a huge part in terms of SC point scoring and allocation

It isn't 25% less time on the bench though is it? The average stint on the bench just becomes longer

Either way, it is something that all players will have to deal with, so I can't see it having a massive impact on any individual

I think that this certainly increase some players scoring. Fyfe, Danger, Ablett etc will be moved forward instead of taking a break and hence kick a few more goals and increase their output whilst players with big tanks like a Wines for example will lift in the last quarter when everyone is tired and earn those valuable impact on the game points that CD allocate.

I'm keen to see impact on DPP for 2017 with increased forward or defence rotations.

Clubs may also be more inclined to rest their veterans and rookies throughout the season.

Would not start a defence with Boyd, McVeigh and Bartel together, no more than 1.

Playing 3 or more rookies in mids also worries me

Yeah I'm looking at mature age rookies, hopefully they have bigger tanks!
