Is Aaron hall a good/stupid pick for FWD 4 or 5?

Trying to pick my forwards 4 and 5 but theres no real stand out....
Tex walker and Buddy were two I was looking at around the 450-480K mark but I'm not real keen on either cause their both power forwards and usually power forwards aren't really consistent super coach scorers, I was looking at people like Toby Greene, Devon Smith and Zac Merrett but not sold on any of them...

But does anyone think Aaron hall has any potential? his Priced at 428K
From round 17 last season he scored:
100, 92, 150, 127, 139, 95, 98

If he plays midfield/high half forward running, racking up touches and kicking a couple of goals a game I can definitely see him getting a decent score every week
he showed at the back end of last year he can score big and with lack of options in the forward line I'm definitely considering him as a POD, especially if he plays really well NAB challenge.

thats it he scored well when everyone was injured. they will all come back and take the ball off him.

Dont like the pick at all

Buddy Barlow worth looking at in the premo region
Bird in the mid pricer
Wells Simpkin Anderson in the expensive rookie price option.

Yeah true I didn't take that into consideration....

Buddy is very tempting but mmmm I dunno, Barlow could be a good pick, would you even look at someone like a toby greene?

What about Tex? Apprently he's training the house down

Massive roll watch during Nab, all those mids have to rest somewhere and most will in the fwd line, if he's in the that rotation to relieve the big 4 then he could be a fantastic POD. IIRC he's never had a full PS - he is this yr and is training with the mids. Added to that he got a 3yr contract at the end of last yr so is rated.

End of the day you could only make the call after seeing a couple of NAB games. Could get you off to a very good start going up against the Bombers in rd 1 if playing fwd/mid

Remember that with Bennell gone, Hall could assume his role (which would make him a fantastic pick-up).

But you would need to see where he plays in the NAB

A wait and see rather than a starter imo

I just like proven scorers

Franklin 115 90 100 before last year
Barlow 95 110 111

Greene is ok but GWS roles seem abit shakey.
95 73 103

he also only went 100+ 3 times last year from 22 games

buddy 6/17
barlow 10/22 including 117 average in his last 3 rounds.

He definitely has potential based on those scores. Key point to take is that he scored well with the majority of the midfield out. If you think he can keep that up then obviously you start him. He may very will fill Bennell's role now.

But remember that no one is going to encourage you to go with your POD. It's called a Point of Difference for a reason.

“We want to play him more inside mid than last year,” Lyon said.

“We felt we took him away from his strengths (last year).”

Yep that's the one^ Keep in mind Ross isn't completely reliable with this stuff eg. saying Sandi would play more deep forward last year

ronl

True.  Keep in mind that whenever Ross Lyon makes a public statement re anything to do with his players or his strategy he has only one thing in mind which is TO CONFUSE THE OPPOSITION if he can.  You can't really take much of what any of them say as gospel.  That' s why NABCUP is so important in giving us accurate or semi-accurate information on player positioning etc, but even its reliability needs to be questioned at times as coaches often use it as a laboratory in which to conduct experiments. I, personally, mainly use the NABCUP as an "indicator" of which rookies might get early games.

He's one to watch over NAB if you're looking for a bit of a POD (I know I am), but if you're looking for a safer option, they've been mentioned in this thread.

He'll almost certainly be affected by the bulk of the GC midfield returning from injury - GAJ, Prestia, JOM, Dwallow etc all were injured which gave him an opportunity when his career was at the crossroads.

He thrived and showed he was capable of playing the role required and had a super output during that time, so he's got the potential. As mentioned above in this thread, he could take Bennell's role which would be great for any fantasy coaches interested in him, I think it's a good chance of happening.

However, as stated in the first line of this post, watch his role over NAB for an indicator of how he might be used and how much the returning GC mids affect his scoring. Looks like a high risk, high reward type heading into 2016 for fantasy coaches.

Haha haven't seen anyone use that before  :D
I don't think I've ever called him anything other than that tbh.  :P
