Calling all Blues fans

Gorringe has Fwd / Ruck  DPP which I like to utilise.

I live on the Goldy so have seen this fellah play a bit and don't understand why the Suns let him go.

New Coach, new environment...are Carltons rucks that great anyway?

Could Kruz spend more time fwd?

I see the baggers do have a few ruck options - Bolts may throw them around or try different combos a fair bit - perhaps Gorry has no JS

If anything - the baggers seriously lack a ruck to have a big influence like most teams have - maybe Gorry will thrive if given the opportunity

Its easy for Rucks to increase in $  if they are given an opportunity

Kreuz is still our #1 ruck, and I can't see him in the forward line other than to rest.
Last season, Casboult chipped in with the rucking from time to time, and I can see that happening again this year.
Which leaves Gorringe, his JS is certainly questionable, I'd say we'll try playing him and Kreuz + Casboult but it may not be a permenant fixture, depending on how Gorringe goes as an option in the Forward line.

Rowe can also pinch hit in the ruck as well. I don't think there is a clear cut number 2 behind Kreuz yet, Phillips is a bit of an old fashioned ruck and Gorringe is an athlete. I think if we look at playing two Gorringe might get the nod on raw athleticism but it is too hard to tell until the NAB roles around. Levi has been having his own injury issues so maybe one of the big boys comes in so McKay doesn't get thrown to the wolves.

I also live on the Goldy and I know why he is no longer there.

He is too lightly framed to be a permanent ruck being 200cm and only 96kg. The most ever hitouts he has had in a game was 23 against Melbourne in 2013 when his ruck opponent Jake Spencer had 41 hitouts.

He also averaged only slightly over 10 disposals a game and only kicked 7 goals in 22 games.

In essence when he played ruck he was smashed and when he played as a forward he did stuff all.

With Kreuzer the number 1 ruck with Rowe/Casboult able to pinch hit to give Kreuz a chop out I cannot see Gorringe getting a game at Carlton as a ruck

He could get a game if he can transform himself into a forward or even a defender but even then history suggests that his output is poor.

A season in the VFL awaits IMO for Gorringe.

Is there another position available for Gorringe though?

If I recall, GC was playing him off the wing the last few games he played, trying to utilise his athleticism Blicavs style
