He still has that 41 in his next 2 price changes. Even if he scores a couple of tons his price will hardly rise.

This. Exactly.

If he goes 120, 120 his price won't change until the 40 gets out of his rolling average.
Then he's only got Rd 13, 14 before his bye.. So worst case is he averages 120 over that point in time and you can snap him up after his bye for $500-520k
I think he'll go 90, 100, 100, 120 which will mean he'll be well below 500k..... And then Rd 16 everyone eill trade him in and he'll ping his hammy again..

Unfortunately (to some ;)) he busted out a 204 and now the 40 in his rolling average is irrelevant. BE of 54 this week and playing Freo at the Gabba. Who is taking the chance and jumping on?

He has a 3 round average of 120 now with the 41 and already above $500k. Good luck to those hoping his price stays that way until after byes.

His in my team, M8! (I can only hold my breath from here and until the end of the SC season)

I can't believe I'm considering him yet again lol but I think I actually have to get him

I've been smashed with injuries and the like and now I'm too low on trades and still have 4 spots to upgrade so I think I just need to accept the fact that I won't be able to afford Hanners so Rocky at 500k comes in

Libba to Ablett will be a luxury if I can ever afford it

Before you jump the gun on that, let's take a breath and look at some numbers.

A score of 204 makes it a decision week in most people's eyes, as his price is going to go up from here. But the reality is that the decision shouldn't really have changed much since before last week. We all know he can pull out massive scores, but he can also pull out shockers. That hasn't changed. At 500k, he's pretty tempting, but you have to be realistice that I think at best he'll average 110. Anyone who doesn't have Jelwood or Gray has gotta be taking a pretty hard look at them too, Gray in particular.

Here's a stats way of looking at it - a player's average is the total points they've scored divided by the games they've played right? So you get a player who plays 5 games, gets 80, 80, 80, 80, 180. Average is 100. But you have to look at that and ask yourself, if I pick this guy, what score am I expecting him to get this week? Another way of looking at it is their median, the number that 50% of their scores are above, and 50% are below. So, literally, a middle of the road score. If you compare that to the average, you get an idea of whether there is a bit score dragging the player's average up, or a little score dragging it down.

Jelwood: Average 109, Median 105 - so, Jelwood's average may be a little optimistic, it's helped byt the fact that he doesn't seem to like the 110-120 range, it's 80-100 or 130+ for him

Gray: average 103, median 114 - Gray has actually been better than his average suggests, it's basically just the 53 making him look less appealing.

Rocky it's hard to say because he hasn't played many games this year, but the 200 basically cancele out the two 40s he had, and no-one has any idea whether those soft tissue injuries will flare up again. The guy is a jet, but he's not out of this world, and I think people need to seriously ask themselves if they're just chasing a 204 that has been and gone...

oddly enough his score this week has meant im no longer looking at him. wanted to see some form before i jumped on. One big game wont do it for me, round 15 bye too.

feel safer with Gray or even priddis.

I stuffed up and dont have ablett so will look at him at 560k instead after the bye,

guys a gun but as long as he doesnt approach 120 average ill be fine not having him.

TomK

I just can't do it, his bye doesn't help either. Reckon I'm passing.

If you could only choose one

Rocky this week, or field a rookie and spend approx 80k more on Ablett in 2 weeks time?

This is why I think I will grab Rocky

Can always look at Libba to Ablett in 2 weeks I guess

JBs-Hawks

Im grabbing him i think

shaker

As they say one swallow does not make a summer I will stick to seeing how Rocky goes over the next weeks , can't believe after seeing all the posts saying never again that everyone is jumping back on after 1 big score  :o  but I don't want to see any whinging if he goes down again  :P

meow meow

2nd game back is usually the tougher one so not bringing him in this week shouldn't hurt too much.

It is against Freo at the Gabba...he could go bigger than 204!  :o

AlexIsOnFire

He was grabbing a lot of uncontested marks in the back line, and pointless kicks sideways/back.

He did come off during the game and looked like he twinged his hammy again, but came back on.

I'm not sold on his body and don't think I'll grab him

When did that happen? Didn't see that..

Anyway, I'll most likely be grabbing him, he's very unique (5% ownership) for a guy that is $500k and can easily go from here to home with a 110 average which is all I'd hope for.
I was hoping to grab Jelwood this week but his 150 means I fall $1k short, so he's next week.
